I raise more preflop this early. As played, I call. I have issues with smaller pf raise sizes early in the game. While I know I want the shitty calls, I just hate when I bet 2.5x and 3 limpers come along because it's "cheap". Early in the game there seem to be many more of these players. Maybe it's a leak of mine..but I like 3.5x early game if I am gonna play the hand.

its not a leak. i usually do it too but im experimenting a smaller size from late position, helps me play more hands, deal with 3bets easier, gives me ability to fold without losing as much and overall gives me a better price on steal. it also allows opponents to play fit or fold on the flop with weaker ranges.

ideally id like to raise smaller with my pocket pairs always, but of course that would get obvious but here i think i can get away with a 2.25

I probably fold, I don't think we're making enough chips in the long run to call. Maybe if SB and BB switched stacks I'd consider it

would you put the bar at like 7.3 or whatever times 2.5 for his stack after raising or higher? lower?

The BB calling here makes it a call IMO, but should the BB have folded and it's HU I would fold. Being in position here helps a bit as well - not much but just a tad.

I'm not sure I understand what you wrote just now but we're calling 190 to win 300+300+300= 1/4,5 immediate plus a some implied, I guess we should call after all. To call I guess I need enough immediate + implied odds to make up for us only setmining and we hit a set 1/8 or something right? Implied odds is really hard for me to estimate though. Normally I just go by the 20 times the investment rule when setmining without immediate odds from the pot

i meant 250 but i really meant 190ish. i use 13x and the number is 7.1 or something and 13 for getting 3bet off our hand and people not stacking off....maybe 20 is more accurate these days or something though...
