Casino Yellowhead Klondike Poker Classic July 25-31st

We started talking about this Edmonton Alberta Poker tournament series at Casino Yellowhead in another thread, here is this years schedule:

Casino Yellowhead 2nd Annual Klondike Classic Poker Tournament

Doesn't look there are many other Canadian series scheduled until fall, would love to go Edmonton again if anyone else is in.

Comments

  • Will have to see how busy I am...but this could be good timing :)
  • I'll be in Edmonton that weekend, so will try to make it out to at least one of the events.
  • I would guess that super satellite that plays on the Wednesday for 180+20+10 puts the extra loot back into the prize pool as well?? One seat in the 550 and 1100 (1650 total) for every 1800 (ten players-top 10%) in the pot.

Thinking on going over on the Wednesday this time to play that instead of wasting money on the single table donk fests that I have zero patience for which compounds the donk problem..lol
  • hey is there some estimate of how much 1st might get in the 500/1k, as well as if there's any chance of filling?
  • If the numbers are anything like the last event there, the 1k had 120 runners with 33k on top, and the 500 was 300 entries with 40k(chop) on top. Maybe this event brings in more players...not sure though..
  • Here's the thread from last years......a little different this year.

Keep in mind they allow re-entry until the first break (ie. if you bust, go to the cage, pay, and they'll assign you a new seat, or on the reserve list).

+1 on Dennis comments, they have broken 200 in 1k in the past, 150 at Yellowhead is not uncommon. Calgary just had 150 at Stampede Classic (1k) so maybe Klondike can do better, since generally speaking locals are a lot more supportive in Edmonton and there will be a major tourism event in town.

Looking forward to t8s report, the super sats can get big and good numbers here would be a sweet head start
  • Not yet maybe move after next week! Pm me ur cell we'll make sure to meet up

What is this event you speak of?

I get in Thursday night at like 1130 so I am probably not playing the Friday anymore - was hoping to get in earlier Thursday but couldn't get that day off work.

Capital Ex is the event...it's the same as the Calgary Stampede, without the rodeo.

'Taste of Edmonton' also going on downtown.

155 runners with re-entries in the Satty today.....I, of course, was 2 of those.

Another one on Wednesday, but I'll be out of town for that one.
  • Shot in the dark, but anyone know if Yellowhead has free wifi?

  • The hotel I'm staying at across street has wifi shitty connect tho. Give me a shout when u get in 519 7312927
  • Via Joanne Jost: "The satellites at Casino Yellowhead had a total of 433 entries over the 3 days, the Klondike Classic is shaping up to be another great series of events. Todays event is the $330 at 6:00pm hope to see you all there and good luck on the felts!"

Not too bad at all, at least 43 players in each the 1000 and 500 before game day.
  • Despite being card dead most of tourny still thought I had shot at money. Alas finished 33 out of 197 just missing cash. Sour
