  • Might help if you told us where in Canada you are... Also blind structure, rake, etc?
  • Yes that would help! Brampton North (Countryside/Torbram).
30 minute blinds like stated starting at
    25/50
    50/100
    100/200
    200/400
    300/600 etc.

    No rake for tourney, 60 x 16 = 960 - seat cost 825 - Buffet/drinks $100/135 ..

    cheers
  • I'd rather have the $135 go to 2nd place and bring my own food / drinks.
  • You might not say that after you taste my wifes cooking! lol

Its also a small cost for time, effort, cards, space etc.

I know one place charges $10 extra and they have 60 players and has a buffet.

I dont mind the extra because it isnt easy doing stuff like this.

    Cheers Rod

Not much different than the old Orangeville tournies where we got a buffet and pop. Lots of people like the idea of food as long as no one is making a profit...

I am interested, what time does it start? Is this a share tourney or can we do whatever with the $825? Is this self dealt? Have you considered half price dealers to speed up play?
  • When I moved to Brampton in 2008 I started playing Orangeville before other games in the area. And yes having a dealer will be better and faster, I am working on getting two dealers that will not be playing depending on how many sign up. This is a satellite so I will buy the ticket for the winner and the players will decide what the equity will be if there is one on the day like 10%. It starts at 1pm and should run 6 hours I suppose.

If you have 16 players, 30 min, with 15K chips starting at 25/50 it will go longer than 6 hrs unless you are doubling the blinds every level. Post your complete blind structure and we'll give you an idea how long it will last. You should also post whether this is an equity tournament ahead of time because some like it some don't.
As for blind structure, suggest using the WSOP structure for intermediate tournaments and then vary the chips and length to make it end when you like.
  • Count me in...please pm address
  • Comp his starting stack is 5k. The GBH tournament is 15k.

His structure should follow GBH's only with 5k and 30min blinds.

I also would like to know if that is what you are doing or if you have a different structure?

    Oops you're right, missed that...
  • Well that is now real quick, likely to end about the 4 hr mark with 20 players. and only 50bb to start? Even quicker with 16 players. Turbo huh? No thanks.. Sorry.
  • Hotrod, why don't you want to follow the the structure that GBH uses, since that is what the satellite is for?

I had a look at the GBH schedule, if you have 20 players and a 5K starting stack and follow the GBH's structure you should have about 6- 6/12 hrs of play.
  • Rod is good lol

    Feedback is great.

I have no problem following that structure.
I mostly play not run them. lol

    So here it is:
    Level Ante SB BB Time 1 N/A 25 50 30 2 N/A 50 100 30 3 N/A 75 150 30 4 N/A 100 200 30 30 Min Break 5 N/A 150 300 30 6 25 150 300 30 7 25 200 400 30 8 50 300 600 30 15 Min Break 9 50 400 800 30 10 75 500 1000 30 11 75 600 1200 30 12 100 800 1600 30 15 minute break Remove $25 chips 13 100 1000 2000 30 14 200 1200 2400 30 15 300 1500 3000 30 16 400 2000 4000 30
  • I am now following the Great Blue Heron blind structure so get ready for 7 hours of poker!
I will be adding more names soon because I will be playing around Brampton Wednesday,Thursday and Friday.

Sunday there will be cash going late afternoon.

If you plan on playing in the tourney just give me a heads up by Wednesday/Thursday so I can plan how many tables to set up.
