Was my play really that bad?

So a week ago I made that topic how I won (well in the end chop but i still take credit for the win) a 50 player MTT.

Now I mentioned in the topic at the final table where I got AK and the guy had Jack 10 suited.

Then after a little bit of raising it's just us to the flop and it comes Ace, Ace, 8 or something.. I remember he had nothing at all.. I check over to him and he quickly goes all in and I snap call revealing my 3 aces, knocking him out giving all the glory to the benevolent Macke.

Now I've seen the guy two times since and he's bugged me a bit about the day after and he seemed friendly about it gave me a little shot in the arm and a little chuckle about a big slow roll. Last night we ended up at the same table and he brings up a HUGE slow roll he got a week ago while in a hand to another player (didn't acknowledge who it was against until I pointed it out to the new player.)

Now I have to say I am a tiny bit annoyed at this.. it's only been a couple times so not that bad.. but it's not like I milked it, I didn't go on a speech on what he could have, didn't do a little monologue on how I shouldn't really call.. I didn't even say "This is so sick."

So I ask you esteemed poker players of PFC and Hellmuth's Mole did what I do really so bad? Would you be pretty pissed if this happened to you (Looking past the obvious answer of of course I got knocked out)

I'm thinking maybe it does have to do with my appearance a little bit, I'm in my very early 20s I'm kind scrawny at only 140-150 pounds at 6 foot or so and I wear glasses.

<_>

  • Did you delay in calling or turning over your cards at all? Or was he just mad that you check raised him? They did shoot people for that a few years ago you know...
  • No I turned over right away pretty much.. before he did.

    Then I have no idea why he would be upset..... Look within...
  • Am I reading this right? You flop 3 of a kind, check to him, he jams with air, you snap call and get flak for it?

    IT WAS NOT A SLOWROLL. A slowroll is when you have a made hand and deliberately wait to reveal your cards. You simply SLOW PLAYED your hand, to fantastic results.

    You are 100% in the right here. You had the better hand the whole way, and got him to put his money in way behind. He's being a huge dick by dwelling on it and bringing back up. I imagine that he was angry with himself for making a really stupid mistake, and taking it out on you.
  • That sounds good.

    Glad to hear that.
  • hes mixing up slow play and slow roll perhaps......mention that to him or ask it, if it was the case hes mixed up on your slow play, let him needle you as much as he wants, just say youll trap him again!!...that should stop it right there
