Kings killing me, races killing me
I have kings in the nightly 8.8o turbo on stars. Under 100 players to go blinds 800/1600. KK button i got 8,400 chips. UTG pushes for 4k, i re-raise all in, sb and bb call. Im up against AQ AQ AK, and of course they draw the ace. Not many other ways to play this is there?
I have kings in an 11 dollar regular mtt @ stars , 3rd position pushes all in for 9800. I had just under 5k, behind the button. Blinds were 600/1200. A7 vs kk, he hit trip 7s. You can't possibly fold here at all can you?
If i could win 1/20 races it would be nice. I fold AK constantly in early postion to all ins because I can't hit it. Yet if i push Jacks or Queens vs AK I get hit. I try to minimize my all in pre-flop situations because of this fact. It almost makes you play different, tighter mostly.
Then you see a flop. I like playing suited connecting cards in the right position. I like to keep firing hard with those big aces and faces, as well as suited connectors. The euro-donks seem to always call you down with any 2 and hit. I understand that is what you want at the end of the day, but how do you beat their miracles? They call 3 and 4 bets with COMPLETE air, and then hit some miracle, how do you put them on a hand?
I played most of my poker on cereus before black friday, unfortunatley that site has gone to the dumps. I was forced to switch my gaming elsewhere, and pokerstars structure is the closest to cereus's. The biggest adjustments for me is the 10x field size of all tourneys. I do enjoy the larger payouts, however the structure at stars is very top heavy, as opposed to the smaller cereus's was more equually distributed. If you want to make the big bucks you gotta put in big time, and to put in big time your big hands need to hold up for you, at least once and a while.

As for the pokerzz, it's just simple variance, nothing more... However I do notice that in the situations you posted your stack is very small... Don't let it get that way. You don't have to have K's, big A's to push much earlier...
