Poker Road Trip

I'm from Edmonton and I play just about any game.
I've done a few poker road trips in the past mostly by myself or with the GF.
Wondering I there are any other gunkies out there that would be interested...

Last fall I made an aborted attempt to arrange a road trip through Florida to visit as many poker rooms as I could since NL opened up there earlier last year. Still think it would be an interesting trip...
  • I've heard the poker in Florida is juicy.
Actually was talking to a guy about it last night at the table.
    I'm thinking in Canada.
I'm not allowed in the us. >:D

The US is the only place for juicy poker, especially if you don't want to be driving long distances or flying all over the place. Why can't you go into the US? Can't everyone? :)
  • Criminal record...

    I find Edmonton juicy.

I've played at most casinos, (and many home games)in Ontario and I just shook my head at how bad the play was in Las Vegas. Even the daily grinders were horrible at poker.

To answer your question, I guess a road trip to BC might be your best bet. Although I have never stepped foot inside a casino in Western Canada, so I don't know how different it would be from your local B&M.

After playing Edmonton during the WCPC for 4 days, and having spent a good chunk of time in the Vancouver casinos, I was somewhat surprised at how poor the cash play really was during the series. Granted, I am only playing 1/2. I expected during the series though, to be much better.

That being said..Vancouver is still much softer from my, albeit limited, experience. I have had some fantastic sessions at the Edgewater and Cascades (though the dealers suck at Cascades they game is juicy).
  • I've only played at Edgewater and riverrock while in Vancouver. That was one my road trip last spring.
Dint get a chance to go to any others.
    How are they.

Personally I only have experience in Penticton, the Edgewater in Van and Cascades in Langley...and again...stupid soft. Granted, my sample size isn't huge..10-15 sessions total...but I only lost money on a couple of occasions and that was due to my own poor play.

If you think it's juicy in YEG, you wouldn't want to leave Vegas.

Depending on your charges, there are ways you can get approval to cross the border.

Jesus, is it really that juicy?
I might have to go get a pardon then.
I've never really had the desire to go anywhere really as there is some much here in Canada.

You've obviously never been to Vegas... Way better and so many more choices.. in close proximity.
  • This an awesome trip to take in the spring
