OK start of each tournament for whatever reason I push my stack and get bent over constantly thus the rebuys. Seems I start slow in every tourney sometimes out of stupidity from frustration other times the early tourney donkeys get that wonderful river.
Once I get passed the point of no more rebuys and get my mind in check I usually sail along pretty good for a while at least until the money.
Once the money starts to go so it seems do my cards and gawd forbid I try and and two barrel or three barrel. I almost think If I walked away I would go as deep into the money as I do continuing to play.
If this just sounds like I'm whining well dammit I am lol
I'm a rec player certainly no pro but in my own mind Im a pretty good tourney player I just can't get over the hump.
Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas other then for me to stop whining because one thing for sure I'm a helluva lot better at whining then I am at poker.
Cheers
Will

hopefully cause im gonna rant on that....
when it comes to long term avg finishes in tournies your numbers are purely a function of you total ev plays chip ev and $ev....or you could say its g bucks i think....
so if your not getting deep enough you need to find more or better ev spots and cut out -ev spots...
the cards, our oppenents, our stack sizes, game flow, game type etc. have nothing to do with it.....its purely adding the times we make a profitable play to the times we make an unprofitable play.....
I am sensing a trend in your posts...
yep. Happening a little too often for my liking lately
Just cashed again same crap hit the money cards go south and its all she wrote.
Crashed at 127 today for 22.98
I suppose I should be happy but, thats right BUT I'm not today I pushed pre flop late mid with pocket 6's the other small stack 5k more then I had calls with pocket 4's You all know how this ends if you play on full tilt enough. The third 4 would just be way to obvious and of course it would fall on the river but no that wasn't it. Couldn't have been a straight with my 6's. Flop comes spade spade spade of course yeah thats right I DON'T HAVE ONE. Turn comes red and of course the river is a spade and another terd lives to play on with my chips.
Of the 4 players behind me that was the one I thought least likely to call unless holding jj AK q minimum bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Is it actually time i start paying attention to the odds and and averages and such to improve to the next level does'nt that take the fun out of playing?
This concludes todays whining session unless of course I play another one and end up with a similar result.
Cheers

Managed to win a couple of Rush Tourneys on Tilt along with 27 and 45 man SnG.s
Stars it was mostly SnG's 27 and 45. went deep in a couple of the guarantees.
Long tourneys, I start great and then slowly watch my stack crumble away. I can't tell you how many times I have gone completely card dead for 2 hrs or more.
Shove short stacked with A-A K-K AK QQ whatever and get called by the deepest stack on the table normally with GARBAGE . Say 4-7 only to see the flop come up 5-6-8 or 7-7 -2 FML and FUA
4 Sng's on tilt played last night. 2 27 runners finished on the bubble lost both to shit hands. same with the 45 man ...
Sent an email to Stars support notifying them of my Disgust for their dealing system
Signed up to play 4 45 runner 5,50 Sngs.
1st hand on Table 1 A-A Called a shove. K-K A-K of course the K comes out on the river.
2nd Flopped Ace high nuts...... Called Shove/ Buddy had 2-3 Diamonds
A-Q d Flop was 4-7-6 all diamonds Turn Q,H River 5 Diamonds,
I guess someone at Pokerstars didn't like my comments.
Ok the str flush that would just make me walk away for the rest of the day. Hands like that are a message from the card gawds that today just isn't your day or at least thats my perspective.
Yesterday playing my usual rush tournies very early in the tourney i managed to get a good start doubled up stole some blinds it was going well. Hit pocket kings put up standard bet player 3 behind 3 bets his stack about 600 more then mine so its early its a rebuy I have pocket kings for me it was a no brainer push. He has pocket aces neither improve I'm rebuying.
1500 chips its early I'm hitting cards I manage to build my stack 4x again still very early hit k's again same seat calls SAME PLAYER. We went through the motions again and yup pocket aces and here I go rebuy again. Who says lightening doesn't strike twice.
Part 3 same as 1 & 2 sailing along hit pocket k's yet again not more then 50 hands into the tourney same seat calls. I went so far as to call my wife and informed her which seat had pocket aces then being the dumb ass I am I shoved. My wife was impressed at my incredible talent of calling a hand i'm about to get bent over on and yes indeed they had ACES and for the 3rd time my stack was gone.
If there was a positive to this its the fact that the third time it wasn't the same player because that would have really pissed me off.
On to the next one
cheers
