Finally made a vid

Hope the sound/video quality is ok. Hud stats are probably a bit hard to see. I think I made a few mistakes in the session but overall I played decent. Enjoy and comments welcome on all hands.

Wanted to embed it right here in the post but I dunno how to do it...

  • ok, I gotta watch this when I am not plagued by other things at the same time..having a bit of a hard time following action on the stacked tables..

    Thanks for posting bb!
  • Some observations up to 21 minutes:

12 mins - don't see me folding QQ pre-flop to $2 raise. This guy is that tight?
13:45 - pocket kings with 10JQ flop, with the min raise. You put him on AK when you have 2 of the kings?

You tend to raise 3xBB a lot with big hands (KK, AK). Don't like to vary your raise size?

I guess with so many tables open its hard to play suited connectors too often.
  • thanks sir will watch soon!

In that QQ hand the villain was a tight aggressive regular who I do not think is 3betting my UTG opens lightly. Calling sucks because I'll be out of position and will basically be check/folding an A or K high flop and will sometimes win a smallish pot when I flop an overpair / sometimes get valuetowned by KK+. It is a nitty fold but I can only assume that his range for 3betting there is QQ+ and AK and I only have 40% equity vs that range.

4betting would just turn my hand into a bluff as I'm never getting called by worse, I flip vs AK, chop vs QQ and am completely dominated vs KK and AA, so while folding there does seem nitty I really believe that it is the correct play. Calling 3bets oop for set value is not a good idea here in my opinion because I need to be basically stacking him like 100% of the time I hit my set and that simply isn't going to happen considering AK misses and won't stack off everytime, and Aces flop some of the time when he holds KK.

In the KK hand I obviously 3bet for value and pretty much all of his continuance range TT+ and AK has me crushed here. That guy was folding to 90% of 3bets so he isn't calling lightly here and the minraise on that board just screams AK or a set. Can you think of any reasonable hand in villains range that I'm beating?

In poker stove I have 31% equity vs TT+ and AK. I tried throwing in AQ even though I don't believe this guy is playing AQ this way and that still leaves me as a slight underdog.

As for my raise sizing I do vary but mostly based on my position and not so much on my hand strength. There are usually at least 3 regulars on every table and I don't want to be giving anything away by raising more with AA than I would with another hand. Otherwise, people could say oh he only raised to 3bb, lets 3bet him since he can't have AA here. Instead, I raise to 4bb in early position where my range is strongest and then 3bb from MP on and a lot of the time I open to 2bb from the CO and BTN depending on who is in the blinds.

I vary my sizing a little more with limpers in the pot especially when I'm in the blinds as the regulars are not typically limping in anyways so when I raise 3+ limpers from the blinds with AA I might make it as much as 10bb since its just fish in the pot who are probably aren't going to have any money online come next week anyways. Sometimes I'll isolate a shortstack limper smaller with more speculative hands just to get it heads up and decide post flop whether or not I want to get all the money in by the river.

I do play suited connectors very often as well as 1 and 2 gappers. I don't call raises with them from shorter stacks because the implied odds are not there and I generally do not play them out of position because it just isn't profitable.
