CHINGHILL CHARLIE!!!

002.jpg

ChingHill Charlie is the official mascot of the Chinguacousy Hill Poker League, located in Brampton Ontario. He was generously donated by his previous owner (my daughter) and has been in our family for quite a number of years. His outfit was handmade and customized by his loving family as well. He even has his own monogrammed ChingHill Team jersey, and his visor is also custom fitted. He is truly Canadian as well, as evident by the small flag lapel pin he wears.

So why the introduction? Well, ChingHill Charlie has an ambition to travel the country and play poker in various parts of our great nation and visit as many forum-ers as possible. He has requested to leave the safe and secure confines of his native Brampton Ontario and go to visit forum members in their various parts of the country, collecting names and pictures and some poker stories on his journey. Although it would be sad to see him go, the family has agreed to give ChingHill Charlie this opportunity to explore this great world of ours.

013.jpg

ChingHill Charlie has requested that his travels start by the end of April, and to return around the time of the next Royal Cup event in September or October this year. During this time, he would enjoy spending time with as many forum members as possible, for short periods of time, and then be forwarded to another member elsewhere. During his stay, he has generously permitted that whosoever hosts him can take pictures of his adventures and post them on the forum, along with any funny stories that has happened during his stay, before being forwarded to the next member. Basically, each host would have ChingHill Charlie for approximately 2 to 3 weeks before forwarding him along. When being forwarded, the host is permitted to include any souvenirs of his stay (provided they are small enough and light enough to fit into the box).

011.jpg

Hosts would be required to take pictures of any live poker games, parties, casino trips, or even family times he has been invited too on his travels. If you're inviting him to your home games, be warned...he can be a bear on the table ^-^

So basically heres how this will work.

If you're interested in hosting ChingHill Charlie, no matter where you live or play, and help him explore both this great country and all the great poker that is being played within it, add your name to this thread and send me your mailing address via PM. He will arrive in his own box, along with some Ching Hill business cards which each host may keep (1 per host please) as well as a introductory and thank you letter. Each host would then take ChingHill Charlie to any games the host is attending, take some pics, post them on the forum, and then send him on his way to another member. The idea is to have him visit as many members as possible before returning home in the fall.

Of course, each host can also send any letters or small souvenirs along with ChingHill Charlie in the box, so that by the end of his travels, he would have his own collection of memorabilia to showcase.

I will start off by bringing ChingHill Charlie to next week's WestSide Poker Event, take some pics, and then shortly afterwards send him on his travels. Each host would be responsible for his care as well as the small cost to post his ass to the next member.

I'll have a list of members who have volunteered to host posted as soon as some sign up. If you want to have ChingHill Charlie for a special date or a particular event, please advise me in your post and I'll try to schedule his departures and arrival times as best I can. Every host would be responsible to ensure the entire box is sent in a timely manner to ensure maximum country coverage.

As time goes on, more folks may volunteer to host during his travels, and I will add them to the schedule as best I can. The idea is to keep him moving across the country, and post his exploits on the forum. Be a great way to get some cross country connections as well.

  • Very nice idea, AJ.
  • That's a hilarious.. and great idea AJ.

If he makes it to our home, he'll be provided my own bodyguard services as Queenie would disembowel him and remove all stuffing until she was satisfied. A handful of Bob's favourite buddies have fallen prey to her deadly fangs.
  • As I live very nearby, I will pass . . . however, Charlie is more than welcome to ride in style to the WSPC event next weekend, if he so desires.

He'll be better a better co-pilot than his current landlord. lolz.

I'm guessing you don't want Charlie at your next Casino night ?
  • Charlie is the ULIMATE High Roller . . . lolz

whoever has him HAS to bring him, now . . .
  • LOL'ing as I type this. great Idea A.J . It's going to be interesting to see where Charlie ends up during his trip.

It would be more interesting if someone would have scooped him up leaving a note saying he would be back at this time next year.
Happened to a neighbor of ours a few years ago with their garden gnome.
Gnome mysteriously reappeared 1 yr after he went awol along with a whack of pictures of him at Daytona Beach, In front of the White House and Buckingham Palace.
There were also shots of him in front of the Vatican and the Opera House in Sydney Australia and a few other places around the world .....
  • Aj

I wouldlike Ching Hill Charlie to be with me for my scoops. I have friends he could hang out with well I play, Freddy, my stuffed Hush puppy dog, Dusty and Dusty Jr as well as Ralph and Hoppy.

At the end of the last event I will forward him to the next person, rest assured he will be well taken care of.

  • I'll definitely be requesting CHC's presence within the time frame. A great and dare I say it, cute idea.
  • Hey AJ, I'll definitely give this a go. Permission to bring him into...adult entertainment establishments in Vegas? ;)

So long as he doesn't get sodomized, I think he's okay with it ;) Might let Mark out of the game though.
  • In order to plan and schedule, I'll post this tentative interest and general locale here for now. If you're interested in hosting, let me know

If there's a specific time frame you had in mind to host, please let me know as well, so that I can schedule his arrival in sufficient time for your plans.

    WildBill - Kincardine
Moose - Cambridge(I think participating in Casino night would be MOST excellent dude)
    Prophet - Markham
    Muddguts - Oakville
    Westside - Vegas Cathouses/Edmonton
    Shar - Sask
    ASNX - possible Vegas trip

I'm hoping some certain Albertian, Sask'ens, and BC'ers would be up for this too. Be great to get Charlie to explore their regions. And lets not forget about our East Coast contingents as well as Quebec. However, be aware that Charlie is obviously a Bruins Fan. Hell, you can take him to a Habs/Bruins playoff game!
  • I'll bring him down to Vegas IF I end up going down to the WSOP. Otherwise I'm 90-95% sure I'll be in Edmonton end of July
  • I am in Markham
  • Just don't give him to InsaneGuy :D
  • Maybe Kristy could take him for a while, that might get interesting...

Interesting would be an understatement I"m sure. If she would like to host, Charlie would definitely be interested. Can only imagine the pics and stories from that excursion. Alas, she has been rather absent in the rollcalls of the forum, so I doubt Charlie would not get an invite.

ChingHill Charlie is a very openminded and adventurous creature. He's up for practically anything. Hosts are reminded that they are responsible for his care and well being as well as posting pics and adventurous activities.
  • I formally request the presence of CHC for this game
  • Too bad he wasn't ready a few weeks ago, he could have made his debut in Atlantic City...
  • What a great idea AJ. Sign me up!!

I will make sure he has a wonderful time in SK!

Yes. He was in attendance at Westside yesterday.
  • Wish I knew about this earlier. Would've taken him to Miami to see the beaches, take him to Hooters and then the Hard Rock Casino for some poker.
  • Hey AJ. I'm going to be in Vegas with Eduardo on May 27-30. Would be happy to show Charlie the sights and take some pics. Not sure how many pics I can get inside the poker rooms - might take a few co-operative brushes to make that work.

Yes, ChingHill Charlie has officially started his journey by attending the Westside event outside of Guelph Ontario. Once I get the pics downloaded, I'll post them up.

Sometime in the next week or so, he'll be all packed up for his next stop, wherever that may be. If you're up for hosting him first, let me know and PM me your mailing address.
  • ChingHill Charlie's first stop on his epic journey was pretty local, just outside Guelph Ontario, at the Westside Poker Tournament. Charlie was well rec'd by many and all wished him all the best on his trek.

The Bruins mini Stanley Cup was a gift from MiltonSlim. Open it up, and you get a USB jump drive. VERY COOL DAVE, THANKS.

Charlie meets JohnnieH; Johnnie would have loved to take Charlie home, however he doubted if Charlie would ever return if his daughter ever got a hold of him
    CHCWestside008.jpg

JohnnieH and Shtebs were eager to be the first to get their pics taken with our little traveller.
    CHCWestside006.jpg

Alas, Charlie's tournament life was cut short after a brutal run into pocket aces, so he moved over to play some cash with the ones who play bad.
    CHCWestside011.jpg

Charlie gets into a big hand with BigBob early in the cash game. Needless to say, Bob left soon afterwards, muttering mindlessly about Charlie getting stuffed.
    CHCWestside010.jpg

Charlie enjoyed his time at Westside and only wished he could have got his pic taken with the organizers and dealers, but alas, time got away from him. Hopefully some of these people will cheerfully offer to host our little furry friend in the near future.
