New Game in Toronto
in Poker Games
I see there a few guys looking for a Toronto game, and although I'm there a bunch of them..... why not start one up?
Can we start a tally to see how many guys we can get. If so, it should be somewhat easy to find a place to play. Even if it is left up to me to find the place.
Anyone?

hork.
stp
I could get me and a couple of friends if need be (if you don't mind a few youngins )
But I like this too, lets keep the other one in mind though. I almost want to set up a club or something....legal issues and all that stuff keep me from really investigating the idea though.
So NL or LL, either way, I'll start looking for a place to hold it... anyone know any pressing issues I should be aware of? if so, limits would have to be atleast Casino limits or better (otherwise whats the use right) 2-5, 3-6, 4-8 are good numbers I think.
As for a tournament I think I could gather up 20 to 30 players depending on the Buy in. $100 - $200 Buy in would probably drop that number down to 10 - 15 players tops.
Let me know more info guys... I am hopeful to get things started.
p.s I live in brampton so that may be too far for some to travel therefore running it at my home may not be an option.
One question - why 2-5? What happened to 2-4? or games where the BigBet is 2x the SmallBet? I don't know why Rama spreads 2-5... perhaps so they can rake 10% up to $5 max instead of $4?
hork.
Hork, where else do you play? If you are interested I can invite you to a game this weekend. Maybe we can find out where else close to home there is to play. I've got three or 4 tournaments lined up this weekend.
Let me know what you think.
I'm not sure what it would have to do with the rake, unless there's a general requirement that the max rake can't exceed the large bet. (Though, that would surprise me if there was such a rule.)
The easiest thing IMO would be to deal $2-$4 with $2 chips, although this might take away the "big pot illusion" which is created by using white chips in the first place. I remember thinking about this the first time I played B&M $3-$6. They actually had different chips for the poker room specifically (i.e. even if you had casino chips, you'd have to convert them to poker room chips to play poker), but they still chose to go with white $1's and red $5's for some reason.

Heck! When they used to spread 4-8, it was primarily all white chips too! The pots looked really juicy at the river, with multiple people calling raises with 16 white chips at a time!
hork.
When I was at the Station Classic in Regina last year (2003) they were running a $30-$60 game entirely with red chips. There were MOUNTAINS of chips on the table, and the action was fast and loose. I had to join the crowd watching -- about a dozen of us -- it was so mesmerizing.
They could have put some $10s or $25s or even $100s into play, but that would have been no fun at all!
I could be in for something like this... I could probably add one more player (maybe 2) if needed..
Brampton is a ways away but i go there occasioanlly for home games so definately worth a go.
Make it happen next weekend.
