  • I will play both supers if I can sell 50 percent of action at 1:1. Obv if I get seats you keep the same percentage of the bigger events.

So 10 percent is 21 dollars.

I'm pretty sure jesus will be on my side for these easter events so get a piece of me while you can.

    wouldn't 10% be $42 if you're playing both supers?

    True dat
  • See you guys there, head up for weekend for some cards, looks like Friday and Sunday are in my price range

You getting a room there? Maybe I will fly over for the friday/sunday games myself...
  • Gonna be a blast Dennis, glad you are coming! You get yourself worked out at Ramada? I would share room, but since it's wife birthday I plan on doing drunk wife hotel things....moving on. Also great that her first choice on what she wants to do is for it go play poker.

Just chopped my league game for 2nd time in 3 weeks and just starting playing it, up $350 and got some more for some mag work, so my $550 on Friday is a lock.

Bren had $270 league banked, so her Sunday seat is also locked.

    Looking forward to it!
  • Thats awesome Jon boy...Yeah, I am covered for the 550 and the 300 if need be..loot squirreled away :)

I need to know which Ramada though? Is it the one closest to the airport? I am hoping Darb comes with for some company on the drive and chopping costs, but, whichever, I am ok for going it alone as well. I might be able to talk another BSPT player into coming as well...he has a seat coming to him for winning Season 10.

Ramada on Kingsway is the closest one to the casino (5 minute drive to casino).

    See you beeatches here.

Its a capital 'J' by the way.
  • Do we need to pre-register for the events??
  • Both Friday and Sunday will be big fields, but wouldn't worry about pre-reg. They have the regular poker room and show room going, can fit a ton of players.

not likely, but registering at least a couple hours before event is a good idea

another thing to note, if you don't play in YEG often:

all events are usually 're-entry' until first break

ie. If I manage to bust in the first hour, I can go back to registration desk, pay, and get another seat (not likely the same table)

    Perfect, thanks.

And yeah, I learned about the re entry last time I was down and knocked out second hand of the tourney...lol

Cash game player at the next table started chirping with some guys he knew at my table as we were getting ready to play..and says if he can have the empty seat at our table to the director, he will join...they say yes. He gets in after the first hand and says that he is raising 600 blind utg then all in on the flop blind. He is utg and raises 600 without looking...I am watching him close..I look down, KQs...ok, I will play this game...call the 600...We are heads up..he still hasn't looked..flop is rainbow K high, he looks at me and says he is all in...I call....he flips aces over. And I am fully sure he never looked, just one of those days...so yeah, I got to use the reentry. In the first 10 hands he was at the table, he was all in blind 3 times, 2x had aces. He raised blind the rest of the time and shoved the flop blind. Won every time he was called. Sick game.

    139 entries last night.....14 full packages (500 & 1K seat), 15 & 16 received smaller seats.

flips > me, 3 consecutive to knock me out....AQ<Q7, 45<68 (shortstack call on my BB), and 56<78 (shortstack shove on my SB) to finish 24th......phack
  • Wish I had the options of a Sat! lol Reg'd at the hotel for thurs-mon.

Likely hit the Argyll Thursday night or maybe try out the cash tables at St. Albert.

Three handed 1/2 in St. Albert??? F*rk that, let's hit Century for some power 3/6 FL!!! Or Palace at West ED...if we bust our rolls we can reload from the whale fountain!!!
  • not sure why you'd play anywhere but the Yellowhead, cash games will be great during this series.....unless you just want to check out the other places

Argyll is a dungeon room (like Cash in Calgary), but they have lots of tables and action
Century is OK (limit is for the mentally unstable, so stick to NLHE), but haven't been there for a year or so
St Albert: heard they reno'd, and is nicer, was tiny room before with no action...probly a little better now
RiverCree: Moved poker room to the floor with the slots (ie. like alot of Vegas rooms)...if you're a non-smoker, you probably won't like it. Probably the best fish in town however.
Palace (west edm mall): Haven't been there in a few years even though I live pretty close...if that tells you anything. Mostly limit I think.
Downtown (braincramp on the name): Mostly limit, usually have a 4-8 limit Omaha, which can be fun while getting smashed, as it's mostly bingo.
  • Would that be Baccarat Casino? Here's a couple of links to other reviews of the rooms, not sure how current they are though.

Yup, that's it.....if there's a new hockey arena put here....down comes the Baccarat.....as it's in the proposed area.

First thing I read was Yellowhead and 3-6 limit.....haven't seen a limit game in 3 or 4 years there.
    compuease wrote: »

This one hasn't been updated for probably 1-2 years, judging by what the tourneys are, but better than the other one

Figured that everyone that knows how to play will be in the Yellowhead..the other casinos should be full of people that have no clue..
Argyll is a dungeon room (like Cash in Calgary), but they have lots of tables and action
played here last trip, and while the chips and tables are old, the dealers were good, as was the action.

    haven't been to either yet.

Wasn't a big fan of the atmosphere, dealers or other players..
Palace (west edm mall): Haven't been there in a few years even though I live pretty close...if that tells you anything. Mostly limit I think.
Last time I was there, there were only 2 tables going. All regs. This was between Xmas and New Years when I figured the terrorists would have it packed up...

Meh, action.....I follow the action....there will be a tonne of shooters at Yellowhead, probly only grinders everywhere else.

Shooters luv tourneys....that's why I'm playing.
  • Gotta +1 T8. I'll be able to point out a few to tread with caution with (eg kai, T8, comely, sanborn, tj, mclean and ed depending who is there, and a few Calgary boys) but there will be plenty of people itching to get their money in bad and reload at the cash tables at Yellowhead. No need to go too far, plenty of tables and usually the tougher players will just be happy to have others looking for bigger stakes and start thier own games...not saying they won't be looking to pad their rolls at lower limits if it seems soft, but most will want the main game or some crazy PLO or DC while the gettings good.
  • Alright, well, I am sure it will all work out.

When do you get in Jonboy?
  • DennisG wrote: »

fyi...if you're interested in sattys.....they'll be running single table sats on demand

I should be there a few hours before Friday's event, so 2:00ish. Have a couple stops in the am on Friday then off to E-town!

sweet, I was wondering about this...will definitely try those out.
  • Playing $330 today.... Will try to post on Twitter. @T8urmoney
  • For the non tweet crowd...update from t8urmoney. 152 runners before the 1 hr of re-entry, and he recently doubled up to 34k with average at 11k.
He had a 99 on a 9 46 flop and initial preflop raiser held 46....

    GOOGGGGGGOOOOO! Good Luck!
