  • i would overcall even if utg +1 had shoved and sb called....
  • I'm pretty sure vs sb you are wayyyyy ahead of his range given the dead money sitting out there.

Id be more worried about the limper having AK or KK AA.

You are too far from the money to ever consider a fold imo.

standard tourney, it's an easy call......but this being a satty, where survival is the only concern, I didn't want to go against 2 hands (kind of assumed limper was snapping for sure)

yeah, was pretty sure I was way ahead of SB's range.....UTG, I assumed would snap when he limps, making me a flip at best 3-way......not the spot I was looking for.

If I read this right there are 100 people left and you have 7 or so bbs? I think that makes this a mandatory call and or overcall....I don't think a triple up here would get us through the bubble.....but i haven't play many satty's
  • i'm calling here for sure with a stack size that low (before the hand you're M was 2.5 = insta-call).
  • mandatory call imo.
way too far from the money, your stack is tiny and you have QQ. ship it in and hope UTG folds.

wrong, 190 seats to be won, I'm sitting 100th out of 260 left

    so 70......???

you know what...im confused...you have something like less than 8 bbs and your mentioning your in 100 place but theres gotta be at least an hour to the bubble and maybe an hour and half till it bursts.....you cannot lay this down at all ever, unless the initial limper has never limped in like 100 hands.......and even than its a snap call. having the small blind shove makes it even more of a snap call.

might be right, but I folded it, and basically folded my way to the seat. It's true I only have 8 BB's, but, as I'm 100th out of 260.......my miniscule stack is still bigger than the avg stack

thought I might be in the minority here.............Blondefish, need your opinion, o' satty guru

yes fair enough cause its certainly not my specialty it just seemed your so far off...you only have basically two and a half orbits worth of chips. and that can't be enough to fold through 70 players and burst the bubble....

plus you are crushing their ranges, both of them. and if you double or triple up you pretty much secure a spot 100%.

but you'll have to ask someone with experience....

all i'd like to point out is an early position limper's range is extremely wide and there is definitely fold equity vs his range.

my thinking is quite the opposite here.....just don't see how someone limps without a monster there

Well if you think about it you can't see how anyone limps with a monster there either when they could increase their stack nicely by shoving. Folding has a touch of fancy play syndrom to it imo. What do we hope to accomplish with our 6 BB stack for the next 30 minutes or however long it's gonna take to make the money?

yes but what does one limp fold with there? it cannot be ak, aq, JJ+. prob isn't tt qq or ajs. its looks like kq 22-88.

Its just that ive been making a mental note of that, and although i wouldn't jam like 66 over an ep limper i wouldn't hesitate with JJ. When it comes to playing vs. an ep limpers range its not just that he's weak but also the times when he folds and we pick up the dead money makes up alot for times hes holding kk+.

Its certainly somewhat read dependent but i have zero fear with it now just from remembering all the times ive jammed and villain shows a ridiculous hand or just folds.....

what we both agree on is hes awful for limping in the first place and although that could mean aces and only aces for some people...i think against the general field the range there is quite wide with good fold equity....

the question here though is are you in an icm type bubble and were still awaiting some who actually knows ^-^
  • What were the stats on UTG+1? If my read is that UTG+1 is going to call too, then QQ is not getting the necessary equity vs. two bigger stacks and I would fold.

If UTG+1 ended up calling the SB, what were the hands? How many big blinds did you have left when you were able to fold into the final 190 without a double-up?
