TT in the SB Early

This is like the 10th hand at the table. I know I am being value towned at the end, but 20:1 I cannot find a fold.

How's my line?

  • Seems really standard, I'd probably make it exactly 200 and bet a little less than 70-75% pot on the turn but we're obviously never folding river
  • sometimes I'll lead the flop as a bluff. doesn't have to be a big bet at all to look like a trap from you. a limper in first position is usually that bad. i'm a sucker for never folding to that river bet.
  • Im betting flop 100% of time and shipping it if he shoves. If he flats im pushing turn. Lot of hands you could be beating on that board as it is pretty draw heavy. Also you have a pretty small stack in the early going. I like to take a shot to get a stack and with that flop im probably not gonna fold. but in talks of the river bet. NEVER FOLD lol

    strange angle huh:confused:
  • only 1 that yoda could get lol
  • I bet flop as well. I would generally bet/call on Kxx board but with these specifc Xs and your specifc hand etc, your blockers narrow his bluffing/semi-bluffing range a lotttt when he shoves. You have a spade, plus two of the Ts to block OESDs. Also I can't think of a single flush draw that's jamming us that isn't a combo draw that has heaps of equity vs. us or ahead. 54s is like the only FD that only has spades as outs. Then again if it's low stakes he probs has dumb enough hands that it might be fine. But yea, 200 flop/shove any turn except an ace looks good.
  • When it comes to a random UTG limping range at small stakes I tend to think it contains more k's than a's and more pairs and suited connectors than k's. Even if this flop is draw heavy most draws are gonna bet if we check and it also widens his ranges on future streets whereas he might fold a lot of the stuff we want value from.

I think I still prefer to play a small pot here and if he won't let us I either check raise or check fold the flop with this stacksize depending on what I know about villain (usually lean towards check raising as there are only like 3 hands with k's I'm worried about)

Edit: If he checks back I'm going for 2 streets of value most of the time unless the ace hits
  • sorry to slightly derail the thread here but the 50 bet into a 950 pot is something I have seen countless times. Is it just someone hoping that you either a) accidently hit the fold button or b) have the check/fold tab pre-clicked? I've seen people bet silly like that and then fold once they are raised.
What is the point of it?
  • I'm not sure checking the flop is great with a board this coordinated even with our specific hand, there are just too many hands with 4,6,9 outs that we're letting get there for free. It's definitely fine to bet for value without necessarily getting it in. It's also fine to bet if the value you're getting is minimal but you have the best hand the majority of the time.
  • RULE NUMBER 1- C-BET, C-BET, C-BET haha
  • As other's have said, I am betting this flop 100% of the time (probably around 50-70% of pot). Only one over card on the board and you are the pre-flop agressor. As for the min bet on the river, I call it all day long.

I wouldn't call that a value bet, more of a, I have a 9 and hope you don't have a King or an Ace, kind of bet.
