Blinds 600/1200 + ante
Hero in BB with 36k (chip leader, avg 18 k), couple shorties (ie. <5bb):
Cutoff (14k) min raises
Folded to hero, have JJ, go all-in:
Cutoff snaps me off with zero tanking with A10
Of course he hits his A and goes on to win ticket, but a good example of how soft it was.
Will play for my seat this Sunday along with the big Sunday Million.
On final table......sitting 9/9......4 seats
wooohoooooooo!:o:wink2:
5 handed (full bubble, 4 WSOP seats, 5th gets nothing)
3 guys have 80K+, I have 20K, other shorty has 28K:
shorty min raises (2nd consecutive min raise), I'm on the button with AQ soooooted....so I ship
He snaps, shows AA......I hit 4 flush on flop, and fifth on the turn.....it was sweet.
2 hands later, he pushes remaining in, 2 of us call and check it down to eliminate him.
Had to suck to be him.
best quote ever lol
At least they gave me dates today........they book the room from the 5th to the 13th at the Palazzo. Shitty they don't let me choose the dates (prefer to go in on Thursday or Friday). If I make it to day 3, they say "If you make it through to day 3 of the tournament we will assist in extending your stay at the hotel."
The room is booked for you on the 5th to 13th. Can't you just call The hotel and change your check in date to the Thursday or Friday?
Kind of hoping this^ can happen, but they don't exactly give you much info.....here's the e-mail I received today, and it's the only documentation I've received thus far, other than the original congratulatory e-mail.
Dear Player,
Congratulations on winning a package to WSOP 2011
So that you can start making arrangements for your travel etc, the dates
for your hotel booking are:
July 5th – 13th. (8 x nights), 2011.
You have a suite at the Palazzo Hotel, Las Vegas. Breakfast is not
included but you do get access to a complimentary gym and wi – fi.!!
If you make it through to day 3 of the tournament we will assist in
extending your stay at the hotel.
Please make sure that your passport and visa are up to date.
Further information will be emailed to you once all the documents are
finalised.
Kind Regards,
Rachael
Palladium Events
And congrats on winning the package.
Tks, but seriously, no breakfast?......that's a deal breaker
Nice shippament...! I don't eat breakfast so I'll sacrifice myself and cover this deal for you ok?
If I am lucky enough to win a package this year, I would prefer to play on day 1D, July 10, and not fly in until Saturday, July 9, but since $2K has been charged anyway, I would probably check in on July 5. Your room will probably continue to be paid for while you are in the ME, e.g., if you make it to Day 8, July 19, you won't have to check out until July 20.
It takes a while to finalize the package details, but you can contact them with questions you need to know early. For example in the last WPT package I won ($1K charged for H+H), I asked them if I could take my kid as a second guest and be included in the scheduled outings. No free meals, gym or wifi were included in my WSOP hotel, but there was a Mke Sexton hospitality suite at the Rio where we were well fed, lubricated and massaged.
Good luck!
I played the 1K Seniors two years ago, not sure I would again, don't really see an advantage...
u don't have to put up with the young punks
just don't forget your prunes
naw, diapers are not that expensive.... and I like young punks...
lol, you play satellites for lammers that can be used for any event buyins. These satellites start at the RIO I believe a few days before the whole series starts. Actually you will find the seniors event a whole lot more aggressive than you might expect...
The Mega satellites had the regular high rake, so I only grinded the low-rake single table satellites. I basically asked for a two-winner satellite where the winner(s) gets tournament buy-in chips in $500 increments. It's a big advantage to know how to calculate chip equity as many players are eager to make a deal when it gets two to four-handed.
Compuease is probably correct that the Seniors Championship Event is not a soft field. Even if you're not in the same table with champions such as Doyle Brunson, TJ Cloutier, Tom McEvoy, Barry Shulman, David Sklansky, Tom Schneider, etc., the rest of the table will have DECADES of poker experience and no fear of losing a buy-in of only $1K. Your EV will probably be higher in the Ladies Event, where there are a high number of recreational players and contest winners.
Anyway, good luck. Phone me if you have more questions.
