AJ in the SB .... ship it??

18BB running 17/10
Villain running 31/15

People have generally been folding to his raises, and I feel he is punishing the limper here.

I'm a bit a head of where I put his range 77+,ATs+,K9s+,QTs+,JTs,ATo+,KJo+,QJo

  • absolutely
  • ship is ok, but folds out a bunch of stuff that he may spazz with.

    I like a 3b/call. Like 3300/call.

    what do those numbers represent?

vp and pfr, % of hands he plays vs. % of time he raises pre.
  • I would never do anything but cram here.
  • Personally I dont like the 3300 3bet here....
Whatever he raises with he's going to call like 70% of the time. only 1700 to see a pot of 4200 is very tempting, and our hand can be cracked easily. If you had something like TT+ I can justify the small 3bet, but I have no faith in AJ. Also, We're shipping the flop every time. I just hate it when flop comes like 985 and having him call ya with T8.
I know the theory of poker says you want him to call with worse hands, but really I much rather just jam or 3bet to 4000+ and ship any flop.

ya...but you kind contradicted yourself a few times here....when your ahead of the range your ahead of the range....

i do tend to go go these spots for sure...villain will often fold flop which is good/bad, doesn't get chips in but you win without showdown lots....
  • Its true we want him to call with worse hands, but i think when he's getting 2.5:1, isn't he getting odds to see a flop and ship any pair/draw?
in my experience lately I've been outdrawn in these spots too often.

2.5:1 is def not good enough odds and he's def making a mistake by flatting. Pre-flop odds when more chips are behind are nearly irrelevant in NLH except in specific spots. This isn't one.

EDIT: Not trying to contradict my last post, but just saying he's def not getting odds if we make it that.
