apologies....were you looking for a real answer?
  • Meh, I was hoping to come on to the "community" and get some helpful responses. Or even good conversation. Apparently that's to much to ask being a newer member.
  • You wanted an explanation?

You raised, he called with a set mine. He flopped a gutshot, and already had a pair, if you have anything that isn't a pair he's ahead (you're only 24% to hit, making him a 3:1 favorite).

If you do have a big pair, he's got 6 outs, making him only a 3:1 dog. If you have a set already, which isn't likely, he has 4 outs still - about back to that 4:1 dog. He hit.

I have put all my monies in on less.

I know the numbers. I didnt ask for an explanation, nor did I ask for ridicule. Simply showing a hand (like you said Im 3:1 or better to win) that I was frustrated in. Very simple.

btw. If I had an open ended draw I would have been better than him. Amongst other draws. Keep trying to sound smart though.

If I was looking for sympathy I would have said "sympathetic responses"

So what were you looking for...?

It's sunny outside today and I'm going for a walk in the park, how about you?

And you are right, Full Tilt is absolutely ridiculous... The lower pair wins... like most of the time. I think we should all boycott them... Sound good?
  • This is why I hate the BBV section...

I always just search for New Posts, and never notice where they are... I try to legit help either through math or psychology, and come off as arrogant (alright, not completely untrue)..

I will retract any previous input and switch it with....

    "Dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyum son!"

    go home
  • I am more interested in how there are still 6 players left with blinds at 200/500, please tell me this was a mtt sng.
  • I can explain it........... its $5 and they have a pair. Maybe they put you on AK? if you have a bigger pair, they just start another $5 SnG?

Exactly it. Mark summed it up best but you didn't want to listen to his analysis so this the other explanation. Satisfied?
Beats suck and clearly nobody enjoys them I'm curious about what response you were hoping to get from us. You were outdrawn when you were a favourite. It happens and (when you play a lot of poker) it's going to happen many many more times. In the long run, as long as you get your money in ahead, you will also win many more of those pots than you lose. If this concept is too frustrating for you then you need to look elsewhere for entertainment activities.
And no, I'm not trying to be smug or condecending. This is a legitimate issue that a affects a lot of people's play. They feel wronged or slighted when they get outdrawn and tilt. If this type of shit pisses you off to this level and you can't get over it, it will sour poker for you forever.
The solution? Take a deep breath, maybe utter a few choice words to get it out of your system, accept it and resume your normal style of play.
  • can't believe y'all are wasting your breath, lock and ban
  • I think you need to take a look at some of the other posts in this thread. Your beat is nothing new and will happen again. There have been far worse beats than this one.

Everyone has a bad day or a particular hand that they really felt they should win and take it hard. But say that in your post. Just venting, or some other thing, to let us know you don't want an analysis of how you played the hand.

IMO, you got unlucky, that's it.

  • Meh, focus on what you can do even if you get beat. There's still a lot of work to be made when it comes to your poker mechanics, that open size is ridiculous
  • Thread of the month, imo
  • I didnt ask for an explanation,

Then don't make the thread title "Can someone fucking explain this?"
