ok, i'm done

I am sick and tired of the idiots that cost me money. Don't talk about long term , there is no long term in a tournament. Its a wonder anyone can win them consistently at all. I have no idea how you do it. Clearly.

Even if I win this one, there will be another 75/25 situation later, and if I manage that one there'll be another and sooner or later the percentages catch up to you and you're out.

  • Just tired, cranky and in need of sleep.
  • No one wins tournies consistently. I have online pro mtt playing friends that have earned 350k onr year and 30k the next year playing large volumes. Take a couple days off, you should be having fun playing and you clearly aren't right now.

+1. You got called by the chip leader and the table. He clearly thought he had a decent hand that suck you out.

And with a name like procharley03, you know he is good.

    God Bless the 3-tards.
  • I think my thread title may have been a little harsh. I know its a numbers game and I want players calling me with crap. Sometimes, it just feels good to vent and let off some steam.

More than that, because I am playing this month with other people's money, I feel like I need to justify why I didn't cash in a particular tourney. Its almost like, "See, I did what I was supposed to", or "I really am playing well, just getting unlucky".

I just need to trust that they would not have backed me if they thought I didn't know how to play. And, as a bit of a brag, I have more than doubled January's starting bankroll.

All your backers know the shit that happens in this game, and we don't expect you to not experience it. It happens. What I would expect is control over your emotions in times like this. Calm down, shake it off, and then get back on track. None of us expect you to win every tournament although that would definitely be nice.

+1 and ++1!! You're doing VERY well this month, and I for one am quite happy with my pending return in a week's time...so long as you don't tilt everything down the toilet between now and then :o You've done a fantastic job this month. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll back you again in the future in a heartbeat.

obv its just venting...but couple notes...

45bbs no antes is a little much to get it all in preflop......

noticing that villain showed a4s....are we opening our game to accommodate such a thing.....a5o and 22 are good here, obviously were not jamming those here but sometimes we want to push kk harder to get it to win but really its the marginal hands that we fold where we lose.....

    lastly

imagining you need to 'win' ten 75/25 races to win a tourney.....you'll need a heck of a lot more than ten races to finally win......does that make sense? if your lining enough up, you'll be crushing if not, your kk will never hold???

Given this particular villain, I think it was all going in after the flop. But I need to think on this a bit more. The strength of my game has always been pre-flop play, so i tend to try and end hands earlier. But you're right, why risk everything without seeing more cards ? KK, is just a pair after all.

Curious, if we know that we are only behind to AA preflop, do we not try to double through villain in this spot ? If we just call his raise, is there any flop, besides an Ace showing, that we aren't committed to any way ? Especially in a $3 MTT.

its not the worst thing, and of course we aren't going to lay down...but one should be adverse to doing this early in the tourney....i think. with say 30-35 bbs and antes in play its standard. but with 40 something and no antes...i don't think it should be our goto play even with aces.

it may or may no be correct but its subtle things like this that showed me i can actually improve...then i stopped worrying about the bad beats so much

remember we are not doubling up...we are taking 70% of the chips on the long run, but when we lose....we lose the ability to continue....

again its not black and white but i think its a consideration....and its more for sit n go, but i think of it everytime i see tammy and Leia finish top 3 every forum tourney we have ^-^

yup and its just a consideration rather than a rule....and the other thing is maybe other villain fold weaker hand when you jam this....so its not when the call where you lose but when the fold that you lose money you would have gain.....

shoving and calling....marginal hands...and bring weaker hands in post flop is where the money is yoda believes....everyone shoves aces and kings...there is no money to be made there...
  • online software favours big stacks that are behind in all in situations. They need to keep these things moving. Or that's what I was told or something.
  • Your doing fine DJ!

Boy what you said above brings back good and bad memories :/.

If I may give you a tip for your bap, I don't know the numbers or where you are at but maybe ship everyone's money back and freeroll on the profit, should be a lil less pressure on you, ask Hobbes on this as he has the experience in it.:)
