Thank you...
I was playing a Level 3 tournament at Gaming Club. If I won the 10 person SnG, I would have advanced to the finals in Feb of which 1 in 20 would get a free trip to a WPT event in March. I did not finish 1st. I finished 2nd. :frown:
I played my best heads up match ever! I came from a deficit of my less than 1000 chips to the leaders 14000 chips to one point where I had 3500 chips and he/she had 11500. I was very satisified with my play, although disappointed at the result of the tournament. I know there are things I need to work on and I will do better next time. Oh yes, I will earn another spot in a Level 3 by ticket, not $60 buy in. Being that short stacked, I am not at all surprised I did not win.
When the game was in its final stages, there were a few observers commenting on the game. They were fair and wishing us 'gl' and commenting on hands that just occured. They complimented my play and I really appreciated that. I am still 'green' when it comes to playing imo and a compliment every now and then helps.
The opponent then decided to insult my play and made a personal insult towards me. I was not affected by it during the game at all (actually I was too busy playing to notice until after the final hand) but I read it post-game. It brought me down.
I want to thank 'SocietyRed' for chatting with me about it and confirming that my style to which I was playing in that situation fit the scenario. It helps having a friend in anything you do.
I also want to thank this forum. Although sometimes some people will critique my play and posts with a little extra zeal , no one hear has ever attacked my intellegence as a person or used insults or names to attack me directly. I really do appreciate that.
Thank you!
