PokerStars Cashout Problem

I submitted a request to cash out last night.

I got an email just now requesting proof of ID and proof of location.

I submitted my driver's license front and back.

Should I be worried?

On FullTilt I received no problems at all.

  • I believe this is a standard requirement if this is your first withdrawal.
  • I've never had to provide anything for any of my withdrawals. Maybe because of the size of withdrawal?
  • Standard procedure.

But I just shipped 2k( not on stars)this weekend, the fun I am going to have trying to withdraw myself, so I can feel your pain.:)
  • philliivey and wildbill7145 I really really hope your right.

Buzzzardd, yeah it is a pretty big withdrawal, maybe that is the reason.

It's just that I've read too many horror stories about this on various sites lol.

And the cashout policy on pokerstars does say that in special cases proof of ID is required to enable a cashout

But what is just god dam stupid is that when you deposit any amount, whether it be $50 bucks or $50 000, nothing is required except your credit card details or whatever to enable the transaction to be completed as soon as possible.

But the minute you want to withdraw all sorts of crap is required
  • Definitely standard procedure. I think I have been asked prior to my first withdrawel on several sites including Stars and Tilt. Just recently I withdrew on Party and was asked again. I had withdrawn previously but it had been 2-3 years ago. All part of anti money laundering and security procedures. Don't worry about it, unless you are doing something you shouldn't.

Philli, you holding out on us? You cashed something this big and weren't telling us about it? Hummmph, I feel jilted... :) Was it a nice multi?

Can you at least tell us what site it was?
  • Jebus, just share the details!
  • Standard procedure.

So, whos gonna call it first?

If he shipped 2K we would have heard about it!

1st time your account gets hacked you would be damn glad they asked for id before allowing a withdrawal. That's for sure.
  • Please see moose's post, I am holding back on details as I am a lil jittery as it is a good sum of money, but once in my hands then maybe:p

I will say it is not from poker.

2k total won but withdrawing $1,578.

lol ding ding ding, I knew that would get ya!

I was half kidding but I do think you and the other big time peeps on here could not adjust to the different play is all I am saying.:)

Fuck off, Philli, and grow up. Your post about Wetts/stakes was obv. sarcasm based on the "smiley", and so was mine, for the same reason. But if you want to get pissy, so be it.

NOTHING in your history on this Forum would lead any rational person to believe that a $2k win was anything but an anomaly/"taking a shot". I base this on your many, many posts detailing your struggles at fairly modest levels, at least compared to others on this Forum. However, it is not impossible (witness my win Sunday night in the Forum tourney), so well done.

    Feel better now? Good.

Now stop being a tease, and spill the details . . .

That's funny cause I was telling you guys the same thing, fuck off and grow up as this not on his meds thing is old and rude, where is your meds? where are your meds Hobbes when you crack a joke on here? I be the same way as the rest,I am not being pissy but when you try and share good news and then have people come along and say it is B.S. wtf do you think your going to feel.

Glad you knew it was scarcasm which I clarified in my post above to those that did not know but the adjust part is what I truly feel, nothing against wetts, actyper, betrthanphil etc etc of course but it is different play(not for the good either) play between the levels.
  • I'm gonna be honest... I have no idea what you guys are arguing about lol... but you are all right about the required documents being standard procedure :)

PokerStars Security told me that my drivers license copy was in poor condition and asked me to take it with a digital camera instead. I think everything is going to be fine but I am a little tense.
  • HE STARTED IT

Not really anything to worry about there.
