  • in, i will find someone to work for me

    Prophet :2h :2s
  • Joanne and I are in Rob. We should be set with the chair thing too. Cheers, Steve

PS glasses in the car in the blue bag. Doh memory is a little sivvy these days!
  • I SOOOOO much want to come to this, but have my own game that day. Hope this event reoccurs a couple more times a year.
  • I'm going to emphasize again that I am taking single entries in this event.

I spent a marathon weekend at my parents building tables to be ready for this. Dammit I left my dice stick behind and I need some more finishing touches but we are good to go!!!!

I really wanted to take more construction photos but it really was hectic. I can't believe I had a staple gun break and took it apart trying to fix it, gave up when about 100 pieces of plastic fell out. Then bought a new staple gun, but it was basically broken out of the box, and also took it apart trying to get it to work. Gave up, bought a second staple gun but because of the clearances, it was too big to staple what I wanted without completely taking apart the table. So in the end my Dad found about a 40 year old hand stapler and I went like a madman trying to make up lost time. So I have a functional table but not nearly as far as I wanted to go with it.

First, roulette table prepped and ready for cutting:

Roulette table done. It came out almost perfect.

    P1040006.JPG

Craps table components, almost ready for assy.

    P1040007.JPG

    First corner done.

    P1040011.JPG

Ta Da! A functional craps table. A few pieces of trim need to go on. Someday I'd like to build a top rail and varnish the bottom drink rail. I have some hot looking fabric to cover the sides too. But hey, it works!

  • Shit this looks sick
  • Moose, you need help :D

    Looking forward to it!
  • How many players are we up to?
  • Apparently six spots open.
  • Moos, I will come if I bust at AJ. If you want to move me to a waiting list u can otherwise I will be there.

  • This looks amazing and a hell of a lot of fun.

    So are you playing?

Work continues on the craps table, which shall henceforth be known as: "black beauty". One side almost done.

This shot right here alone makes all the work worthwhile.

    Next up: the far side.

  • Black Beauty ready to roll.

  • Moose, when you're ready to stain/varnish the bottom drink rail you should consider a product called Saman that Home Hardware has started to carry.

Stain/clearcoat in one product. Oil based, but I think they used Soya oil so it's almost no odour. Fast dry time. Minimal prep as I didn't have to bring everything back to bare wood. I just used it to do an incredibly ornate handrail and spindles for a customer. We went with 4 coats, the grain is beautiful and the sheen is like glass, thus very durable.

    Just a suggestion.

PS. The pics are incredible, I'm sure you guys will have a great time.
  • Do you still need a blackjack dealer? I would be happy to help i am free tonight :)
  • Moose we're leaving now. Hope to be there by 630 but the snow might slow us down.

    P1040042.JPG

The last hand of the blackjack round.

    P1040043.JPG

Crazy final hand. 3 double downs and a triple split with another double down.

    P1040044.JPG

    You guessed it. 4 J 7.

    P1040045.JPG
  • On to roulette.

    P1040046.JPG

Eight players and it was a bit of a challenge coming up with 8 solid colours so I put a rack of Crystal Parks in play.

    P1040047.JPG

Final spin roulette. Go big or go home.

    P1040049.JPG

My POS plastic wheel actually worked ok. Silicone lubricant FTW!

    P1040052.JPG

Waltsfriend wanted a picture. I can edit this some more if this is not ok. Thanks for dealing.

    P1040053.JPG

Wait. I thought Ontario casinos didn't have free booze?

    P1040054.JPG

Thanks to everyone for dressing up.

    P1040055.JPG

    On to craps!

    P1040057.JPG

Ok. I have a dice stick but it got left behind at my parents. So a good Canadian substitutes a hockey stick.

  • Holy shit, moose . . . all you need are some neon lights, a terrible we site, and shitty customer service, and you could get licensed by the AGCO . . .
