Time For Change.

People may think I am a bit of an ass for ragging on Fallsview and 13 Cards who I did not know was no longer with the Casino.

Personally I really don't care. I say it the way I see it. Always have, Always will.
An article pops up in a Winnipeg newspaper. Saying the same thing I have said and have been saying all along. Fallsview is severely lacking in Human Relations and running a card room PERIOD.

Is it possible if EVERY POKER PLAYER in CANADA stood together we could lobby and fight the government and get changes made?

I'd like to hear everyones opinion and ideas.

  • It won't matter what we do. To the big casinos in Ontario poker players are 3rd rate citizens.

The casinos and the government just look at how much they can make off of the table games and slots and poker.

Poker is way at the bottom of that money scale.

You can say if we all just stop playing at their casino that may help. But it won't. They will just shut down the poker room and put more slots or table games in.

You want to play cash? Simply go across the border to Seneca.

This past fallsview poker classic was well run, the actual tournament anyways.

I think the only thing we can try to stand together on and get some kind of answer and maybe a change is the scalping of the $1k seats and satellite seats, which others have said is illegal.

Fallsview has problems running their poker room, that is obvious when there is a lot of players there, like this past weekend. The solution is go to Seneca.

    hof post!, Thank you Steve.:)
  • If everyone is going to stand beside me I am going to get the ball rolling. First thing is to file complaint against the Casino for letting things happen the way they did and if we have to take it to Dalton's office.

The reason why I want to do this is. I love to disturb the shit and maybe start another scandal at Queens Park . Just prior to the Door hitting Dalton's ass as he gets the toss from the Premiers office. There is no way this sniveling little weasel is going to get re-elected. And if he Does I am moving to Saskatchewan lol

Seriously. This was totally wrong and has happened before and nobody has done dick about it. And as long as no one does anything it will happen again.
  • There are two casinos in Niagara and they aren't going to kill Casino Niagara completely by expanding the Fallsview poker room...IMO. It's all about business and there are two casinos. Other than the scalping incident for the satellites that allegedly happened in front of pit bosses there (which let's be honest....just because the guy said it happened in front of them doesn't mean they were aware what was going on) tourney was fine. They should indeed limit the number of seats one can buy to 4? but really this isn't like a concert and will never sell out within minutes. Anyone who thought ahead would have had no problem entering any of the levels. I don't play at tourneys at that level usually but I found it well run. Sure the poker room is idiotically small. I can't believe I would be wrong to suggest this is because Casino Niagara must also be kept afloat in a market where two casinos is barely justified during regular crowd volumes (and of course poker isn't a very profitable game for the casino). I just don't see that there is a 'scandal' to start here at Queens Park. Probably worth filing a complaint of some sort though, but don't let it take too much of your time imo.
  • I think basically as I posted before the main issue is with the lack of communication between the organization itself. If I ask a question someone should know the exact answer, I mean honestly, if there are 600 tickets, there are 600 tickets. Not 400, not 300, not 450. How hard is it for you to look that info up on the computer.

They even had one dedicated line to getting info on these tournaments but that info wasn't accurate or they couldn't get you answers. Get your act together or do not hold these events, plain and simple.

Brantford, Port Perry, Windsor, you can call in and ask "how many people are registered?" and they will tell you right away.

The whole scalping issue is another fact that can be easily fixed by allowing people to register with their card to prevent multiple entries. If you win multiple seats like some people then there is nothing they can do.
  • Points are taken. I play at both Fallsview and Niagara. It' was not just the scalping of seats to the super satty's that have Pissed people off.
To be perfectly honest with you and please read this.

The poker room is not that profitable because it is run BADLY.
I have gone in the morning, there are enough people signed up to start 3 more tables and 4 dealers sitting at empty tables picking their noses.

Some of the dealers at BOTH casinos are pretty ignorant to players when they ask what may seem to most like a silly question.

There are not enough large scale tourneys in this area. Fallsview and Rama both have the space to hold these events but Where Are They?

Charity Casinos , Brantford GBH etc are nice venues but can only hold small events.

If they want the poker to be more profitable then they have to promote it more.
What happened at Fallsview this weekend and in the past just leaves a bad taste in the mouths of players who had come from the east and west and is now showing up in newspapers across the country.

There is no harm in trying to get things changed for the better.
