grounds for a lawsuit?

a little over a year ago I won a single table satelleite at Fallsview Casino, and despite multiple attempts to claim my ticket it was never awarded to me. I made at least 5+ attempts and received various assurances from casino employees that if X condition were met I would be given my ticket. Basically I am out $1000, or a little more. Should I sue the casino, and if so, how much should I sue for?

  • i believe that falls under small claims court....
  • What was the condition?
  • the first time i went to the cage they said bring a floor man who could vouch for my identity and then when i did that it was a different cashier who wouldn't do it. it was partly my fault in that I didn't have identification, but I informed the floorman of this fact before entering the tournament and he assured me it was okay. my plan was just to sell the (transferrable) ticket, if I won.
  • Small claims court=waste of time and money.
  • In order to claim any prizes money or anything else you need valid ID which means not expired.
My drivers licence was expired and they wouldnt except that so I was going to use my passport instead. Same thing for lotterie winnings!! You may have a case because they let you play a tourny without valid ID.
  • We've been through this before a few months ago. Take them to court. Remember, This is the Government we are talking about. Yer basically fubarred buddy. So if you want to pay a couple of grand over a 1K ticket. You would need a lawyer ........ By all means go for it.

It would be small claims. No lawyer is needed anyways.

Dalton and his gang would have a gaggle of mouthpieces there at 500/hr a pop. So he would in this case.
And we the taxpayers would end up footing the bill.

Small claims doesn't work like that... :)
  • Would probably take up more time than it is worth...are you sure you have exhausted all avenues in dealing directly with the casino?

And why did you wait a year to consider your options?

Did you speak to management at any time?

    +1.

Also it will cost you more then the 1k once the casino lawyers get done with you.
  • Just for the record I know I sound harsh, but I am concerned for you Meistro and I really don't want to see you waste your time or have you go through shit that I have been through.

I don't know what the whole story is or how much evidence you have either.:)
