Pt. 3 The Jedi Code: Rule of 4 and 2
The Jedi Code: Rule of 4 and 2
Note: This post assumes you have read the 2 previous Yoda posts.
A shortcut it is…nothing more, nothing less.
Senator Palpatine tried to explain but honestly I just got confused…..
Visit the Senator Yoda will (see battle in star wars 3), clouding your mind he is. Always looking to the shortcuts young Jedi are.
Never take time to see the whole picture. Gave you the secrets he did, without proper perspective.
*Yoda sighs* Backwards you have learned
The whole picture, do you remember?
Yes Yoda I remember
1. Understand pot odds
2. Learn pot odds
3. Use pot odds.
But what does the rule mean?
Caution padawan, patience you must have. Yoda will explain. Two warnings Yoda has before we begin.
First, perfect the rule is not. Good your answers will be, but perfect they are not. This matters not to Yoda, if unsure he is, poker stove he will use to be sure.
Don’t I want to be accurate as possible master?
If destroy the death star you must, then yes. But worry not about hitting the branch if only you must hit the tree. In time, understand this you will, from your own study.
And the 2nd warning Yoda?
When greater your chances are, diminish your mental powers do…less accurate they are. Matters to Yoda this does not, matters to you this should not.
If 15 outs or more you have, check with poker stove you will. Matters to Yoda this does not, however, know this you should.
Are the rules difficult to understand or use?
Not if see the whole picture first, you do….and only one rule there is.
Only one rule?
Yoda will explain…..first Yoda counts his outs. Then Yoda multiplies by 4 if the flop he sees, or by 2 if the turn he sees……
When 2 cards to come you have, twice as likely to make your hand you are.
To count your outs Yoda cannot help you, be careful. To know if you will win, when an out you do hit, Yoda cannot help you.
Yoda’s examples will explain.......

Comments
See the flop only we can, bet our opponent does, and a flush draw we have
9 outs we have to our flush
When we see the flop rule of 4 we will use
9 x 4 = 36
36% our winning percentage is
64% our opponents’ winning percent is (what is left from 100 that is).
Example 2
If the turn card we can now see.
9 outs we have to our flush
Because we can see the turn rule of 2 we will use
9 x 2 = 18
18% our winning percentage is
82% our opponents’ winning percent is (what is left from 100 that is).
.
Some other small factors there are. But once the basics you have mastered, a Jedi will you be.
.
too hard to read jibberish.
Implied odds are whatever you can talk yourself into them being.
all i know is implied odds are the way of the jedi......and reverse odds are deceptions from the sith
82% this is.
ooops... lol... Yoda's abacus f'ed up...
Yup but an epic thread. the 3 parts = TOTM?
