What would you do here?

Would most of you just ship pre? Or was the raise alright here?

  • I like the raise size, and at this point with the ep raiser left to act i think you have to make a very sour face and fold. Your only like 7% against a ragged ace and we all know how micros lover their aces. Gross though because their are so many pocket pairs in their preflop range but you'll only lose 1500 here and you can rebuild.....an ace hit the flop, it doesn't happen that often.

sometimes, and its almost a situation like that here.....i will pump up the bet to about 2000 and shove any flop...not sure you can warrant that here though.......
  • You raised too much preflop (almost 2x pot)
As played fold. You got 3tarded.
  • I think I lean towards just pushing pre here

Pot's decent enough size, and it looks like a steal.

I like it. It certainly looks like a much weaker hand.
  • Thank you for the comments.

I guess I was also wondering how many of you think that frankie is going overtop of the all in? Is it worth a call to get a side pot? Looking back at the hand again I wonder even more at his 60 chip bet out on the flop.

its unlikey he will call you with anything worse, since ak aq and aa are alot of your range. with an Ace on the board and two all ins hes not likely at all to pay you off. his donk bet could mean the nuts or nothing, not much of a tell. KK doesn't win all the time, we know that, we made our correct raise preflop and will gain our edge on the field by folding for a better future opportunity.

    Again thanks for comments.
  • Cant fold the flop pot odds are too juicy, also you might have raised a touch too much pre, basically when in doubt just raise pot. Jamming pre is a little silly imo and cuts down on your action too much, although it does nicely rep a slightly weaker hand. Jamming looks weaker than reraising to like 1200 or w/e pot is.
  • There is probably room to raise to 8k or so in the 2nd hand and shove anyflop ;)

notice though how light you did get looked up....

Pot odds kinda going away when you know you only have 2 outs. A call on the flop would be horrible imo.

I believe the race pre was a little high. I would prob raise around 800 or shove to make it look like a steal. I think a rule of thumb is if your 3 bet is more then 25% of your stack you should just go all in as putting 25% of your stack in pre flop and then folding on the flop is not a profitable play.

    +1

raise size for 2nd hand please :)
  • You're getting almost 6 to 1 on calling the flop. My 'rule of thumb' is any time I am about to bet > half my stack I just go all in but that is sort of silly, obviously there are plenty of times when you wuold want to raise 25% of your stack and then fold (vs passive opponents for example you can make many tough folds) but you don't typically want to build monster pots and then fold, as in the example above. It's around 5k pre and 900 to call, I snap all day.
