I like canasta!! And it may help to to not think in %.... more like....
Hey, a one outer on the river? That happens one time in 50! 2 outs? Why, that's one in 25!! Those are the two most brutal, and that's only with one card to come.
If you still really need to get a feel for how often this shit happens, play backgammon. I've been telling people that for a while now, and nobody listens.
I know. I have played BackGammon. Like I said before tho. The math dose not mean anything when playing on line poker.
I have yet to see a short stack lose an all in shove with total horse shit in their hand and lose on the first 2 shoves.
I had a guy this morning should have taken a picture of this.
I was dealt AK suited. Shoved, He calls with 2-9 off suit
Flop A-2-7 rainbow Turn was K river 2
Next Hand K-K He shoves with 3-8 off suit I call
Flop 3-3-3 It happens a lot more than I think it should.
I like backgammon and I did learn a long time ago to play canasta. lol
1 was a $3.50 Knockout 90 runners
the other was a $2,20 on demand . Tourney started with 300 or so and 1/2 hr later there was about 1200. they have that 1/2 hr ext registration.
I know they are not much and it's not the money it's the fact that about 80% of the time I know I am way ahead and these monkeys call and 1 like in this gets there out on the river and cripples me.
Villians are killing me with these frickin jacks and when I have them they never come. LMFAO

See bold. This is key. Do more of this and less worrying about the beats. Post them as hilarious instead of heartbreaking and you'll probably feel and play better.
Got home late last night from my family Christmas! I tell you, my nephew, man, he's awesome! He's like three now, and boy can that kid talk. I mean, he saw all those presents and his eyes just lit right up! Pretty great!
The best part, is when he saw all those presents under the tree, some from family but most from "Santa", it was so cute. You could see his little mind working, and he told me how he remembered hearing hoofs on the roof last night above his bedroom! And then he remembered hearing someone laughing merrily and sleighbells jingle, but he swears up and down that they were outside his window on the second floor. So cute when they're that age!
Anyways, sorry for the completely non-metaphoric tangent, what're we talking about here?
Is it possible to be pissed and LOL at the same time?
I do laugh but I just can't understand how I can zip through the $2,20 9o runners and finish consistently in the top 6, same with knock out and 45 runners.
But these bigger ones HOLY CRIPES . Everyone is playing bingo or hold-em and I am playing fold-em. I have gone from break to break without playing a hand cause the cards are so BRUTAL....
here's what I have noticed.
freerolls are what they are. 2 hands in on any table I am on and I check the chip leader is already over 10K.
Single Tables. usually finish in top 3 same with 18
90 man bounties $1.40 have been final tabling on a regular basis . usually fold every hand as it is total caca from the time there are 50 left down to the last 20 or so.
I have yet to see a short stack acually LOSE after shoving with a hand that is so stinky I can smell it through the screen. lol
Bigger tournies like GTD 2,3,5 7.5 Re buys and add ons or turbos, forget about it. I don't think I have ever had a hand actually playable .
except for once were I took the ATM in seat 9 building a stac and weathering the storm to cash 12.50
This is on P*'s
Tilt I have done nothing to brag about as of yet but I am fairing well playing rush poker. Since I am a better Cash game player than tournament.
Maybe I have to start playing the $10.00 and up games.
Your sample size is way too small for the statements that you are making.
There's players that have more games in a day that you have played to date.
I'm sure in 1 day they can see all that you have. Doesn't mean that it happens every day.
"Maybe I have to start playing the $10.00 and up games"- Watch the Micros...best line it in is "ya, definately have to move up to games where they will respect my raises...
If you can't beat the ones you are playing in, move down, not up.
If you think its rigged, quit playing online and play only live where that "J" never hits on the river.
I didn't actually come out and say it's "RIGGED" I really don't think it matters what the buy in is . Not too many are going to respect anyones bet.
I'll keep plugging for a little while longer, until I get it right anyway.
Ron, really don't want to take sides here but Wolffy is 100% correct. Your sample size is way way too small... I'm sure some of the regs here that play 1000's of hands per day (some per hour) will back this up. There is no more "bad beats" online per 100 hands than there are live.. It just seems so..
Shudder, I hate that term "bad beat"....

I know I haven't played as many as everyone else. it's only been about 6 weeks.
Not going to get too excited. like I said I will keep plugging away and maybe try a couple of the higher buy ins to see if it's any different.
Maybe because my luck hasn't been that great lately could be a big factor.
I don't think I have played hands wrongly in most cases but, A shit house rat seems to be luckier than I have been in the past few months.^-^

Any board is possible. Hell I saw a Royal Flush on the board in a live game.
90 man sit n gos not as much as I have been final tabling on a regular basis.
That J never comes off when I have it. as you can see in the second hand
UHHHHHHHHHHH YEA okay. I'll just quit and take up Canasta.
TTTTTTTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHPPPPPPPPPPtTTTTTTTTTTTT
It's sucks but move on.
You are a wise man sir. Almost savant like.

I've noticed the total opposite. I've seen over and over larger stacks call with junks and usually hits. Especially in mutli-way pots.
So how may times have you seen this happen?
You really need to learn how the human brain is wired. We have a tendency to remember these situations and not remember the 1 outers we have all hit.

I'll just say this. when it comes to being card dead its important to understand that your opponents are being dealt the exact same cards as you.
Wouldn't that just mean a chopped pot everytime?
Mark
only if everyone had equal skills :P
it'd mean that the online companies are just cheating again by giving everyone "the exact same cards"
