Afternoon tourneys in Edmonton
Finally gonna be in Edmonton for a few days before/during New Years.
Looking for some good afternoon tourneys to play before hitting the cash tables for the evenings.
I am guessing that the West Ed. Mall casino is likely the softest for cash due to the high tourist population?

Hey Dennis,
TBH, haven't been to Palace (west ed) in a couple of years, just not the best place to play....don't think they get much tourist action there, too busy shopping.
Not sure if you'll find any afternoon tournies during the week....River Cree used to have a daily noon $65, not sure if they still do. Didn't get many runners, 15-30, and 3K & 15 min levels.
Weekends, Saturday at Argyll is a $115 at 2 or 3 pm....probably 50-100 runners for this one, 10K & 20 min levels. Sundays @ Yellowhead, $240 deepstack @ 2 or 4, 15K & 30 min levels, usually 30-50 runners.
I would have expected the mall to be full of guys playing while the wives shopped and what not....especially over the holidays (post xmas)...hmmm..
Most of the casinos are non smoking in Edmonton right?
No special tournies that I know of.
Your Options are:
Yellowhead: 7pm, $65, 6K, 15min
Argyl: 3pm, $115, 10K, 20min
All casinos are non smoking, with the only exception Rivercree, as it's on native land.....half the casino is smoking. Poker room has it's own smoking room.
Argyl tourney looks good for NY day. Thanks again. I will try to hit a few different rooms for cash games.
