Yes thay are marked, and he walked out....

so they must be deemed worthless then?

ok "Lt. Clint Nichols said the chips will be difficult to exchange for money because of industry safeguards, which he could not disclose."

The could not mark and keep track of every chip in the place. Could They?
  • I did not make it to Vegas this week. I have witnesses. On a side note I have a wicked new cash game set...

25k chips probably have RFID but also how you gonna walk into bellagio and cash 25k chips without having played at the tables.......more likely this guy'll start paying for hookers with the chips...
  • I'm guessing that they have serial numbers too.
  • I think Moose is paying for the chip set.
  • Apparently, this is the second time recently a casino has been robbed in such a way in the last little while. You would think after the first time, they would put in measures to ensure it didnt' happen again.

Oh well...at least their secondaries will be put into play :D

Never mind that, what kind of "security" lets a guy walk around with a helmet on inside a casino?

And the RFID chip probablt doubles as a serial # if the chips are equipped with such.
  • I'm guessing with RFID technology where it is now, there is no reason to even bother trying to stop thieves in these kind of situations anymore. Just hurry them along and get them the hell out of the casino asap.

This is the crazy part imo.

2 mil in the equivalent of non-negotiable securities.... what a dumbass...

According to Global news. Some of the chips have a micro transmitter which may end up being the "RETARDS" downfall.
  • That is the RFID tech mentioned earlier . . .
  • Hey a guy walked into casino rama with a samurai sword not to long ago...............so lack of suitable security everywhere!
  • No shock that a Canadian casino had a lack of security. Hell, I got through 4 Canadian airports using a Legoland Drivers License as photo ID.

    Please tell me you're joking!

How long ago was this? We gotta hear more details... or were you doing it as a gag and also had your proper id as well?
  • time for a thread hijack!

Back in 2006, I took a drive down the west coast with my mom, then fiancee and our best friend. We hit 5 theme parks in 5 days: Disneyland, California Adventure, Six Flags Magic Mountain, San Diego Zoo and Legoland (the ex is a huge Lego mark). At Legoland (which was way cooler than it had any right to be), they have the Volvo driving experience (go karts made out of Lego). I didn't have time to go on the go-karts, but for $5 I got my very own Legoland Drivers License. It looks like something my niece could make on her home computer. Not exactly photo ID worthy anywhere.

On the drive back, we go through customs and when they asked for my ID, I thought I'd be a jackass and give the lady my Lego license, figuring she'd laugh and ask for real ID. Nope, she glances at it and says have a nice day.

I was going to try it at the border but our friend lost her wallet on the trip home so it was going to be hard enough to get home as was. Flying from Victoria back to Toronto, I decided I'd try it at the airport. Same result. Went back to Victoria two weeks later for a wedding. Toronto airport, same deal. Had a long ass layover in Calgary. Same deal. Tried it again in Vancouver on the way home. 4/4.

Best part: the first and only person to ask for other ID was the bouncer at the strip.... library I went to the night before the wedding.
  • I know exactly what the lego volvo driving experience license looks like, and it's not even remotely official looking. I really find it hard to believe you could go through security and board an airplane with only that, especially post 9/11...
Man this is really approaching the unbelievable.... You know that other card game? I call bull****.... :)
  • Having only ever flown internationally, how stringent is the security check on a domestic flight?

I mean, I can see it being similar for getting on the plane, but it's not like you go through customs when you land elsewhere in Canada, right?
  • I have always said, The only place you are safe is a DONUT SHOP. lol

And to cerebus, Good thing the RCMP in Vancouver didn't see that. You probably would have been TAZED. :o
  • I checked BCC today and their craps table has about $45k on it.
  • Advertising that you're "casing the joint" is -ev, moose.

Besides, you seem too smart to be riding a motorcycle.

Well, you're welcome to call it but, in that games as in any poker we've played, you'd lose ;)

Domestic flights are show ID to security, show it again to board the plane. Everyone waved me through. I almost wish I were joking because it was quite a sad state of security, especially post 9/11.
  • It's the end of the world as we know it . . .

    I feel fine.
