Is this what we want to do....?

These three hand history's.....

first one I'm on the better side of a fairly deep coinflip

2nd I'm below 50% but perhaps with his wide range I'm even better off....I thought i had fold equity but im not thinking so much after the call....

3rd again im slightly behind... but i was really short stacked, so i'm thinking this might be something to take.....

  • Well here's my 2c.
1st I think is spew. You're throwing in 20 bbs with a crappy pair after shown aggression. If he calls you're either flipping or he's got you dominated.
If you aren't folding, I much prefer raising to something like 3500 and shipping any flop. It also looks scarier. I mean, if you had AA here, whould you really just ship or try to trap?

2nd I like. No one has shown aggression and a lot of dead money out there. I really think you want to push this and get it heads up, then pray. You're not ahead of much, but I really don't think you're behind a lot either other then KJ. KQ+ usually raises. Granted, he shows AJ, but you're still 40% here with a lot of dead money. Odds work for ya.

    3rd
You're not THAT short stacked with 20bbs, although we are looking for a double up.
Unlike the first hand, here we're either flipping with a lower pp, got him beat on a 60-40 scenario, dominate him, and there's a few hands where he dominates us. Dont have poker stove here but I'm about 95% sure that pushing here is +EV, especially if there is any chance he'll fold.
More then anything though, we have AJ and 20bbs. I'm never folding, especially when I'm only against 1 opponent, and a slight chance he'll fold.
  • 1st one imo is pretty simple, I ship it all day. Very profitable play.
2nd. with 5BB you might as well get it in here.
3rd. He has basically told you if you push he is gonna call, which either means he has a low pair like he did or a hand like aq,kq,kjs. I dont hate the shove, but I dont love it. You know hes never folding and you have a really good 3-bet shove stack, I might fold and wait for a better spot, but its still up for debate haha.

what i got from this most is i have the idea and some refining will serve me well. im certainly pushing my boundaries an nice to know im not completely out of line.

  • 3rd. He has basically told you if you push he is gonna call..... but its still up for debate haha.

i had not realized that his bet meant that until you explained. Blows me away kinda. It stuck out in my mind up until now but even seeing his hand and knowing he snap called all that was stuck on was "why did he call?". its kinda why i made this thread, it shocked me into thinking i'm clueless. But it makes more sense although i still think its light on his part especially since it kinda shows he'd do it with 22.

much appreciation on pointing out the differences between the first and the 3rd...

    much homework to do!
