The Lou Marsh Award is annually given to Canada's Athlete of the Year. So, who should win it in 2010? Some of the notables mentioned include the following:

Jonathan Toews - Stanley Cup winner, Conn Smythe trophy winner, MVP for the Gold Medal winning hockey team at the Olympics.

Sidney Crosby - Gold Medal winning goal at the Olympics, currently making goalies tremble in fear this season in the NHL.

Christine Nesbitt - Long Track Speed Skating Gold Medallist at the Olympics, and dominated her events all season long in 2010. Panel likes to reward Olympians in Olympic years to prove the award goes to more than just hockey players.

Georges St. Pierre - UFC Welterweight Champion of the World. Five straight title defenses, two of which came in 2010. Sportsnet athlete of the year for 2 years running. One of the top "pound for pound" fighters on the planet today.

Joey Votto - National League Baseball's MVP for 2010.
