A little about myself
My own section on a forum! Kewl. I'm flattered.
A little about myself. I am the editor of Canadian Poker Player wherein you will find my monthly column "The Amateur Poker Player." I also write a poker column in Buzz Daly's Players Choice (a weekly in Henderson, NV). I am the author of "Winning at Poker: Essential Hints and Tips." It is, unfortunately, really hard to find since it is published by a British publisher and available as a "bargain book" at booksellers that have bought a large volume. Most recently it has been available at Chapters in Canada and The Gamblers Bookshop in LV.
I have had some success at poker over the last seven years or so. I have won $70K in Casino Regina's Poker Classics and I have played in two WSOP tournaments (cashed both times). Playing mostly 3-6 shorthanded I have cobbled together the $10K buy-in for the 2004 WSOP Championship. My airfare is booked. I will be playing this May.
I find the title of "expert" a little daunting. Rest assured that if I do not know the answer -- or am not able to offer a thoughtul opinion -- I will find someone who can.

You managed the 10k entry fee out of playing 3-6? How long did that take and why didn't you move to higher limits?
I myself prefer short handed games as well, and find it hard to adjust my play when I'm @ a full table...I assume the same doesn't go for you.
Also, what years did you cash in @ WSOPs? and in what places?
oh...and congrats on the win in Regina!
I don't usually play very high online. The simple reason is that I *hate* losing online. It seems that I can take my licks in live play and I am able to leave it in the cardroom when I leave. Online, sitting at home, big losses have more of an emotional effect on me and I avoid anything over $5-10 for the most part (I have ventured into the $100-200 at PokerStars, but *that* is a lot of stress). Live games I will play up to the 30-60 limit (maye a little higher if I am feeling lucky).
In 1998 I played the WSOP $1500 Stud/8. It was an awesome experience since I had never played the game before that day. I finished 5th.
In 2001 I played the WSOP $2000 no-limit hold'em. Held on for 27th which was good since they paid 27 places. Whew.
The Regina tournaments are awesome. Well run, great facility, and a ton of fun. Jerry Carter of Edmonton is the #1 winner there with winnings over $100K
Your book is also the first poker book I bought. Nice work, gave a copy to a friend too.
