Full Tilt

I have kept a spreedsheet of my play in 9 man sit & go's on full tilt. They are all Super Turbo's It consist of over 850 games. In those games I have got my chips in with the best hand either all in preflop or all in on the flop 80% of the time yet I have only won those hands 53% of the time. I have recorded game #'s and hand#'s to back this up.

Is this normal or is there something seriously wrong with their software?

  • Sample size - 850 is small
    Variance - it's a super turbo

Stack size - umm I have to call with 2 cards

How many times were you a 52/48 fav vs 80/20 .... ? You cannot lump those all together.

  • I have found on Poker Stars and I am not the only one who has noticed it lately.
    1. Short Stack always wins 2 hands on shoves, Regardless of his/her hand.
    2. There have been a lot of River suk outs and runner runner.

Several people were chatting about it on a few of the tables I had played at.

I don't recall being at a table where people weren't whining about suckouts.

No tinfoil hat for me. I don't play at UB. ;)

    Well, 90% of them, anyway . . . ;)

Bill, for a serious answer, just google "Law of Big Numbers" for your explanation. 850 games is waaaaaaaayy too small a smaple size.

They were talking Dennis, Not whining.
  • I think its magnified at lower stakes cause players are new and haven't been subjected to the nasty downswings of higerstakes player or more seasoned players. Poker is a mental grind, forget about 80/20 etc etc, the real key is being able to digest beat after beat and still go back and still be profitable after a large sample size.
