The Poker Pro Canada Classic Returns to Four Aces Poker Club in Montreal
Montreal, Canada – The biggest poker tournament in Quebec history is back for another showing at Four Aces Poker Club in Montreal. Sponsored by the nation’s leading poker publication, Poker Pro Canada magazine, and popular online poker room UB.net, the $1,500+$150 buy-in event is set for January 27-30.
“The first Poker Pro Canada Classic back in April was a huge success, so we couldn’t wait to hold the second edition,” said Poker Pro Canada Editor-in-Chief John “Johnny Quads” Wenzel. “Four Aces was a terrific venue and I can’t wait to get back there.”
Last year, the Poker Pro Canada Classic attracted 246 players, including well-known pros Mark “P0ker H0” Kroon, Hollywood Dave Stann and Canadian Heads-Up Champion Benjamin Lablond, who took third in the first Classic. The prize pool swelled to a whopping $370,000 and in the end, local player Oliver Baksic took home the title, pocketing the first prize of $118,000 in the process.
The Poker Pro Canada Classic features three “day ones,” allowing players to rebuy into the tournament on Day 1B should they be unable to qualify for Sunday’s finale on Day 1A, and then again on Day 1C if they fail to qualify on Day 1B.
Players will start with 20,000 chips and will experience a ton of play with one-hour blind levels. Twenty-five players each day will advance to Sunday’s finale.
“We expect an even bigger turnout this year,” says Derrick Oliver, country manager for Poker Pro Canada (pokerprocanada.com). “The players loved our inaugural event. Four Aces is a card players’ cardroom with excellent staff and lots of action. It provides the perfect poker atmosphere.”
On Wednesday, January 26, there will be a VIP Players Party at Four Aces, complete with free drinks, prime rib and seafood buffet.
UB.net is back for another year as event sponsor and will be providing 25 seats to the event. Satellites on UB are running now.
