if the stacks are deeper, I'm probably raising on that flop to see where my hand is. Don't put him on a five with the re-raise pre-flop. He is probably scared of the five when you just call, and he is waiting to see if you bet on the turn. No bet so he takes another stab at it on the river.

Realistically, you got off light. TPTK no good in cash games, you know that.
