top pair, bad kicker
5 limpers, and I have K8(spades). Flop-K92 (2 hearts). 2 people check to me. Do I bet? How much? Do I bet again on the turn? People at the table are mostly calling machines.
I guess I shouldn't be playing that junk!!

If I am in position, or with 1 player in behind me here I bet. I bet about 2/3rds pot and feel comfortable I am ahead unless reads on players that they c/c TPGK (KJ, KQ) type hands. You appear in middle position, I may c/c or c/f depending on who bets and whether the K on board is of hearts. If the K is a club, I probably c/f here as if someone bets or there is any action, we are probably drawing to 2 out as the 8h is probably dead and villain could have KhXh type hands (k10, kj etc).
If we check here, I can't see many turns that we are happy with. We obviously don't want to see an Ace or a heart. But any 10, j or q complete anyone chasing a gutshot. I bet here to make people chasing pay to get there.
I also will bet most safe turns about 1/2-2/3 pot and re-evaluate on the river if called down, most likely shutting down from there.
Is this a tournament or cash game? What are the blinds and stack sizes? Live or Online? Position? I assume you are mid position but its hard to say
All of these things are very important!!
I gave my advice guess is a live MTT. Easiest reason is that this is the MTT section, and second given reads provided are passive calling machines (so probably some sort of home game).
And if it isn't a live MTT, I would think it is a low buyin online tournament.
I would say he is UTG+1 or MP, and that the CO, BTN, SB and BB are in the pot (or something similar).
Although, one question I may also have to ask is was this raised pre? I going to assume no, but it makes a difference as to how I would play the hand. And yes, effective stacks and blind level is very important given we need to know if we are getting the right price to call a lot of hands with either pot odds or implied odds.
Played the way it is, you would have to bet here. I would bet half pot. With all the limpers, people would have to have a strong hand to call, either top pair or flush draw. The small bet will also hopefully induce a raise.
Based on action reassess on the turn.
