So tonight is headsup and Duhamel the Quebecer has a huge chip lead. This can be huge for poker in Canada.

The final 2 play on Monday night, not tonight.

Pokernews.com has a hand by hand synopsis of the final table. If you skip all of the raise/fold hands it won't take that long to read. (SPOILER ALERT!!)

It will be really interesting to see the look on some of the players faces when the hands are shown on TV though. Grinder vs Jarvis in the hand that took Jarvis out and Cheung in the hand where he had a meltdown especially.

What was he thinking? Although they had played for quite some time. Either way there's a better spot.
  • Grinder got GROUND UP LOL SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP.
  • I wouldn't really call it a melt down - depending on the fold equity he thinks he has, it could be a +EV play.

Although I would imagine the edge is so minor that this isn't a spot where you want to push a small edge given the circumstances
  • after all that effort, its interesting to see what cards they get all there money in with. I don't feel bad now pushing all-in with 810 suited :)

What was it, $180 million pot with A7 off? Good game.
  • Yes, I do agree Wes - calculating it out, with the amount in the pot already there is a lot of fold equity. BUT if he is called I would expect QQ+ or a hand that dominates the A7o.

So... Assuming that QQ is the best thing for us to see when called, Duhamel would have to fold more than 43% of the time for pushing to be a +EV play.

BUT... 1) Duhamel has already 4 Bet the pot, so he's probably not fooling around
    2) From what I saw, Duhamel is not very likely to back away from a big fight
example: His JJ with a straight draw vs KK against Afflack to knock him out.

There were going to be better positions.

  • Duhamel is now the first Canadian to win the WSOP. Congrats to him. Apparently his rail was all in Canadiens jerseys. This can be a good thing for Canadian poker players. We may see a surge in fish at casinos.
  • I enjoyed a La Fin du Monde while Duhamel played heads up. Very good result for all Canucks.

True. The funny thing to me that may or may not show up on the ESPN broadcast is that 2 of the players cheering for Racener were wearing Leafs jerseys right behind Racener.

    No wonder why Racener lost.

Nice to win the Bracelet but IMO anyone Who Cashed was A WINNER.
    HASBEEN JERSEY'S YUCK!
  • I doubt it will bring a "rush" of players, even though more french donks would be good!
  • So, I missed Jarvis' first few hands where he folded that 20m'ish pot...? Anyone have a link?

Don't have a link but Jarvis had AJ of hearts, Cheoung had 6 10 of clubs, Cheoung flopped top pair and rivered a flush, Jarvis folded to an all in on the river
  • Ty sir, that is all I needed to know..lol
