TOOK THE MORONS LONG ENUFF LOL
  • Sweet..... although I'd love to know starting stacks for each buy in.
  • Sattelites are more than likely TURBO Single table BINGO GAMES 1500 starting chips
As for the events I have no Idea. To hazard a guess. 5k will either be 10 or 12k
2500 probably 5k 1000 3k Could all be the same too.
I am going on Tuesday next week and can find out.
  • Well, I for one will not be playing in this tournament after they refused to honour the satelliete ticket I won (at their casino) cheating me out of a thousand dollars.

Single table sattelites and also multi table sattelittes. Not sure about starting stacks or if tournaments are capped.

I took a look at their sattelite structure. Looks the same as WPT when they had them there.
10 min blinds 1500 starting chips. Can't be patient too long or it's a waste. Just have to hope the Bingo Gods are with you or you get back to back monsters right off the start and crush the 6 or 7 donkeys that will be sitting there.
This should give you enough of a stack to be a little patient and Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip It.:)
  • I may host a couple of 2 table satties to the $1000.00 and $2000.00 events Late Nov and Early Dec. Hopefully I will get more response than Windsor..

    What happened?
  • Well I didn't have any I.D. but the floor knew about this before I entered and i had been playing there every day for months. Then the cashier gave me the run around and they never paid me. I tried like 3-4 times, bringing some floors with me to the cashier to vouch for me. I think they should pay me in cash the value of the ticket I won.

It says in the rules you need government issued ID . The casino reserves the right to not let you play unless you can prove who you are.
  • the prize pool has doubled this year for all events...i guess they know with poker on the rise it will attract more players.....im not even going to waste time with satellites for the 1k event. i'll buy in str8 up cuz half the idiots there will keep pushing and by the time you even get close to getting the ticket you'll be like $800 in...i might however satellite into the 5k event. i couldnt sleep last night after knowing its back lol.
  • Going to review the documents and post sometime later for a satellite to the $1000 event. Watch for details in November.

Can I pay online for the voucher?
  • Any one know what the max number of players is for each tourney ? Also starting stack sizes, blind levels / time.

    The sattelites are a little more than 10% of the tourney buy-in - 1500 chips, 15 min. blinds - 25/50 - 50/100 - 100/200, etc... Winner gets a seat.
  • Take the prize pool and divide by the buyin. I'm sure they estimated the prize pools based on sellouts. So 500 max for the $1k. 280 for the $5k. One good thing that they did this year was not overlapping any of the tournies, so its possible to play all 3 this year without worry. The super sat should help the number in the main event, it was extremely low last year. I wish they made it end of Jan though, too close to the xmas break, and also the start of the PCA.

I am going to run,( ANNOUNCED in the Ontario Section)
2 Satellites on Nov 27th for the 1k event. 4 seats

If Fallsview would get off their asses and start running satellites in Sept they would probably be full.
All 3 events are 2 days each and will be run in the Grand Ballroom

I wouldn't have minded if they didn't let me play, and in fact they did let me play, it was when they decided not to pay me that I had a problem.

The bigger question is why you don't have governement issued id ?
  • Exactly! If you play any other games Slots etc and win a jackpot over 10k You have to show your ID or you get Jack.
I went to pick up my voucher at the cage prior to the start of the WPT tourney and had to provide my D/L and players card before they would give it to me.
  • The satellites have changed from last year. See my detailed analysis from last year. The $120 satellite with 17% rake has surprisingly more play at 15-minute blinds instead of 10 minutes last year. :)

The other three satellites also have 15-minute blinds, but have changed from 2-3 winners to winner-take-all only, so variance will be higher this year for players. Even though the $550 satellites cost twice as much as the $275 satellites, the rake disappointingly stays the same at 9.1%. Last year, the Step 3 satellites had a rake of less than 5%.

The scheduling of the super satellites at 4 PM may force those players to stay in a hotel because of the noon starting time for each main event the next day, instead of having to drive back and forth to Niagara Falls. If it is the same starting chips and 15-minute levels for the $120-$550 super satellites, then I may prefer car pooling to Fallsview on a busy satellite day when I can play several satellites in one day instead of going on January 5/7/9 just to play one crapshoot.

Conclusion: it is much better to play in as many rake-free satellites as you can first such as HVEEPOKER's satellite on November 27. If you cannot find such +EV ways to win at least $1K, only then should you join the hundreds of gambooolers at Fallsview, where only satellite kings (or luckboxes) will be able to beat the high-rake crapshoots. I am undecided if I will play any satellite or main event at Fallsview, since playing online for me is probably more +EV with much lower variance.

Options at Fallsview are limited. $120.00 single Table 1500 starting chips and 15 min blinds that are definately IMO not player friendly. 1 seat is up for grabs.
It is truly a bingo game where the luckiest person at the table is going to win a seat. And you get NO MONEY.
I designed my satty to give out 2 seats and some extra money to attract more players. it gives the patient, maybe not the best players a chance to get into a tourney where players said last year was a good one.
There is also more money on the line Than GBH or Brantford.
Winner last year took almost 90k and that is expected to rise this year.
I was going to go to Windsor and play in the tourney there but have decided to do this instead.
1 hr away is better than 4 and more payout if you cash.
  • "The bigger question is why you don't have governement issued id ?"

Call me crazy but I think we shouldn't have to live in a society where we carry around papers of identification.

And as for winning slots jackpots, I don't play the slots so it's not really a big issue for me.

Most people carry their Drivers licences, OHIP card Bank Card and Credit cards with them.
If you are stopped by a cop and can't Identify yourself then you may be in for a bit of a rough time. Especially if you are driving.
I can see people not carrying ID if they have something to hide.
    other than that .
    :confused::confused:
  • Cool, I guess you don't have any problem with the government bugging your house either? After all, you would only have a problem with that if you had something to hide, right?

    You're crazy.

On a more relevant note.....apparently it IS a big enough issue for you....

    Sorry for continuing the threadjack.....
  • Just got some interesting news from fallsview:

Players will commence each tournament with the following amount of tournament chips:

    $1000 event: 5,000 TD

    $2500 event: 10,000 TD

    $5000 event: 15,000 TD

Blind levels will be forty-five (45) minutes

The Super Satellites each start with 5K and have 30 minute blinds!!!!!!!! If you don't like the regular sats this is the way to go!
  • IMO, I think the Fallsview satellites are definitely beatable. With 10 donks at your table, as long as you have shortstack game, you should qualify for less than the 8.33 buy ins ($1000/$120)

The rake-free home game satellites are good, however, they have a much more knowledgeable crowd than a casino crowd.

I'd still pick casino satellites tbh..

They are if you are lucky right off the start. At least you get 15oo starting stack and an extra 5 mins for each blind level.
WPT step 1 was 1000 and 10 min blinds.
Its a bingo game IMO .
Home satellites are wayyyyyy better. They can be set up to cost the same or a few dollars more and give 3 or 4 seats and some expense money .
  • Anyone know if the satellites are running yet?

If so, are how many tables are they running? I went last year in December on a Saturday there was only 1 table running satellites, a $1000 satty then a $2500 then a $5000. Is it the same this year?

Oct 24th or 26th they started. Not sure what kind of MASS CONFUSION they are running. I stayed away from it last week when I was there.
Try their website I think it says what days are what. Or you can call the poker room. Good luck getting a straight answer out of them lol.
