You have to have used moneybookers to deposit to your site before you can withdraw. That is the poker sites requirement not moneybookers and there are no fees, other than back to CDN funds if that's what you use. This sounds like Cake correct?
I've been able to switch to withdrawals with Moneybookers without having to first make a deposit in the past. Wouldn't be surprised if you're offered the same. I just had to contact support to set it up.
But $500 min withdrawal is pretty crazy. Never seen it that high on any sites in the past 7+ years of playing online. Is it specific to a certain withdrawal method?
My bank was having problems with cheques, so I switched to Moneybookers and never looked back. Direct wire transfer into a USD bank account worked perfectly for me.
If you're in Canada, I've heard Instadebit works pretty well (as GTA said), though I've never used it.
But yeah, $500 is definitely the steepest I've ever heard.
instadebit is great, very easy to use and quick turnaround. i'm on full tilt and use instadebit and wouldn't want to use anything else, except for maybe credit card because i would get air miles however my CC charges interest instantly when i deposit using it
when ever i use moneybookers to withdraw it always seems that they take a fee the amount is always 5 to 10 dollars shorter when i receive it in my bank account has this ever happen to anyone this is not including the 2 or 3 dollar charge they take i would go with instadebit works great for me on fulltilt and partypoker

Yes a cheque requires a $500 min. Moneybookers is $50 I believe....
Were you withdrawing to a CND account or a USD account?
When i made withdrawals to my USD account, I got what I asked for: ie $1000 USD withdrawal yieled a $1000 deposit in my account. I would just way the standard withdrawal fee ($2.90 if I remember correctly).
I remember when I had a CND Neteller account back in the day, that it always seemed like I was getting screwed out of $5-10 in currency exchange fees.

eWallets ftw I guess. I've had problems in the past cashing poker room cheques, even from a site that is based in Canada, so I always go the MB wire transfer route these days.
Wonder what Cake's reasoning was for the increase. Too many cheques going to collections was costing them money/hassles?
+50 fee
$50 fee? That's insane. Get yourself an eWallet asap. The sites where I got cheques in the past never charged more than a $2 fee. Look up Moneybookers and Instadebit and save yourself some money.
Just found out my bank does not allow moneybooker's or click2pay anymore for deposits with credit card, hopefully I won't have any withdrawal problems from the money I am waiting for from my post above.:-[
Instadebit seems to be the standard Canadian solution now, but with our system so tied to the US system, plus "regulated" gaming coming in, it seems the deposit/withdrawal options for Canadians are getting less and less by the month.

Royal Bank.
But ya instadebit is the way to go if you can, I just did not have it as a withdrawal option from where I was at.
But in a twist, I signed up for ecocard (pretty much same thing as moneybookers and click2pay) and so far it looks like it may work.
wooot, money showed up in my moneybookers account, did not think I was going to get it till next week, problem is I can't deposit it on full tilt as my email address is different for mb and full tilt, so I withdrew right to my bank which I am nervous on how much the fees are going to be, but if I get the funds by the weekend I will be even happier.
Still waiting for my moneybookers money , was hoping to get started on full tilt again, have to start lower bankroll or bappage some of my action maybe.........
Moneybookers does say 3-5 days for withdrawal and it is only 3 so getting worried but not too worried yet.

I would suggest instadebit if you have that option.

Sorry for the double post, but at what online poker room, which is all the OP said "my online poker room".
I can't believe $500 min is standard now across the board (though maybe it is).
Sorry I thought someone said it was Cake poker..... which is their policy.
