How to keep yourself away from Brantford Casino for 2 years
I was sitting at the 10-20 table, doing pretty well...had taken my $300 buy-in up to 840 ish when the hand from hell came...for all those sick of bad beat stories stop now...sorry just venting this story one last time...
I get pocket Kings in the Big Blind and under the gun has raised, everyone else folds and I re-raise, he re-raises and we cap at $40 pre-flop..I'm think High pair, A high card or donkey materiel...this guy could be any of the above...
Flop comes down KKA, now as many may know, Brantford will let you go on re-raising all you want when its heads up...so I raise, he re-raise, I re-raise la la la la...all the money gets into the pot..so I know have my full 840 ish in there thinking this is great that I'm about to take down a $1700 pot in limit poker, largest I have even been involved in. Also thinking the guy has to have AA..
Turn Comes an ace and I stand up and start getting ready to leave....river comes an ace..and I'm stunned, along with everyone else at the table because the guy hadn't shown his cards yet.
He had called $800 on the flop with A 7 off suit....I left, but wandered around the casino trying to replay what I did wrong....when I walked past the table again about 30 minutes later the guy had lost most of those chips back to the table...still didn't make me feel any better though....
That said, it took me just shy of two years to step back into Brantford Poker Room again.

71.46% favorite to win this hand pre-flop
Post flop.. a whopping 99.9% of the time you win this hand..
after the turn he has improved slightly.. you are still 97.73% favorite..
This might be the worst story I have heard in a long long time, made even worse by the fact that there was no BBJ in effect at the time.
This would have been made a worse story if there was a BBJ. Everywhere I've been, you AND your opponent have to use BOTH hole cards, which his A7o wouldn't have used, thus making it an even more vomit inducing beat than it already is.
Sorry buddy I feel your pain..
Actually
Stories like this is precisely why limit is awesome.

Just cause you don't know how to play limit does not mean it sucks.
Respectfully... you DON'T know how to play. Otherwise you wouldn't be saying that...
I hate money too.
Just PM your address and I will come to your house and relieve you of said monies at your earliest convenience . . . nonono, don't thank me. You've done the same for me so often I feel obliged to return the favour.
It's nothing . . . really.
