Lets compare ergonimics and functionality.....

Interested in hearing about physical setups for online playing especially from the guys who are grinding pretty much all day everyday. I just discovered the 'extend my this dekstop on to the other monitor' button and loving the extra space.

how many screens or computers do you use? how many computers. what do you sit or laydown on. what do you use for keyboard mouse etc. how many tables/clients do you play at once?

what other things need to be considered?

also might ask next about heavy players considerations on exercise vs poker time....

I'm not a full time player, but I put in solid part time numbers.

On my main computer, I use just 1 monitor (27"), as I don't usually do more than 6 tables.

When I'm getting tired (near the end of the session), I sometimes set up my laptop with a 25" monitor on the couch and use the coffee table, same idea. ***disclaimer***must be careful not to fall asleep, can cost monies

For my desk, bought a nice leather chair (reccommend not going cheap on the chair, as comfort is important for long shifts)

When I'm on the couch, I'm lying down and watching t.v. at the same time (again, probably not the best idea)

regular keyboard, wireless mouse (think about $40 bucks)....get a couple of these, as it's amazing how fragile they are when you throw them across the room (when getting 3 outed on the river of course)

Have as many as 5 going, but usually only 2 for sure...stars and tilt

  • I am by no means a full time player. I am lucky if I get in 3 hrs a day during the week and like 7-8 hours on the weekend total. I also only play like 4 tables at a time max. Any more and I find it goes too quick for my slow mind...

But, when I am playing 4 tables at once, I usually play at my desk. Got a nice chair from the wifes's work when they upgraded. Still in great shape though. I also use the two screens. I think my monitor is like 21" or something thereabouts. I sit my laptop on the left and that monitor on the right. Usually I run pt3 in the backround, and I keep two tables per screen, because I like to watch the other players as much as I can. I find if I cascade the tables, I lose this information.

When Im just playing casually, like two tables at once, I will sit on the couch with just the laptop. I'm interested in knowin how the heck people lay down and still function properly. I get so dam sore if I bend my neck up like that while laying down for 4-5 hrs.

regarding the mouse, I purposely have a cheapo corded mouse, so that I can catch it by the cord if I get 3 outered (before it hits the wall). ;)

    Also, Exercise? Whats that?

Aparently there is a new update for stars with a new option to position the tables. Didnt read it totally, but the update is coming this week.
