Saskatchewan B+M

Just moved to Saskatchewan, wondering about the various poker rooms throughout the province? Sizes, games offered, etc.

Been planning on going to play NL at Casino Regina one of these weekends but was wondering what the rake there is like?

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry for my delayed response....been a hell of a week...changed my first tire EVER all by myself!!! ( then find out the tow truck put a hole in my brand new oil pan)...but that is a rant for another time...

I have only played at Casino Regina, and off the top of my head the rake for the 1/2 NL is to a max of $5 and $1 to the bad beat pot. They offer 2-3 weekly tournaments on Monday/Tues/Wed with both freeze out and rebuys and are often sattelites into the major tournaments in fall and spring.

I suggest you go out and take a look and play a few sessions. The poker room staff are excellent, and they will have copies of tournaments/dates etc for the current series. You can also get a players club card which can be used to bank comp dollars. In the poker room you get $1 for each hour at a cash table.

I know they usually have a PLO (I think its plo might just be limit) 10/20 table going as well. Unfortunately I am unsure of the rake but it is always an interesting game to watch.

  • You're from Regina? What are the Station Poker Classic and Harvest Poker Classic like.. Fun events? How tough are the fields?
  • Yes, I am from Regina, though I am living out of town now and commute there. I have only played a couple of events so far. There is always lots of out of towners, and seemingly endless action. The cash games for the tournament week are not only extended until 6am but there is a good number of tables with varied blinds/games going on.

They hold super sattelites for the Main events as long as there is interest, and that is unreal to watch...more like horse races. The prop bets that get going during those were amazing to me :P I don't know if I am the best judge for the competition for these tournaments having only played a couple, but as an amateur player I know I can hold my own...

Have you had a chance to play at the Casino yet? If so, what did you think?

  • Planning on going to the NLHE Freezeout on Oct 6. Says field size max is 90, does this usually fill up or no?
