  • Great New Years Day tourny Redington. Thought the blind structure and very friendly players were a great way to start off the New Year. Met XSqueezeme, wolfhound and one other forum member (can't...remember...his name....or talk...at...normal...rate...) sorry bout that and met a number of guys that said they read the forum all the time but don't post. Anyway, needless to say I had a great time and look forward to the next one.

A hand I was involved in:

Final table had just been established. Blinds 75/150, I have about 2200. Im UTG with TT and raise to 450. Short stack raises all in for another 600 and everyone else folds. I really dont like this, last time I was at Redingtons I had TT and ran into KK and was out. Well, this guy could have anything I have to call at this point. I call, he flips over KINGS!
    Wow this sucks....

    Flop 9 A Q

    Turn 10 OMG a Ten!

    River Q for the house...

Mike S had said early in the night how you have to get lucky to win a mtt most of the time. Well, that was one of my lucky hands. I had actually just reminisced about a hand at the BCC tournament where I had a "good beat" (a bad beat in my favour) and how that NEVER happens to me. Of course, later in the night I was dealt a lethal blow when I was heads up with my AJ vs. A7...Dude spiked a 7 on the turn leaving me with only 3700 of the 27,000 chips in play. I fought my way back with a little more luck...sucked out a straight on the turn with A3 vs. his QQ and having the board play when I was a huge dog. Final hand was him going allin with Q3h and me calling with KQd...King hit and I walk away with $450. My signature is ringing true once again....thanks again for the tourny!

  • Stpboy...standing outside by the velvet rope and all from noon on...

Redington, good tourney, great players...thanks for hosting.

Please put me on a list for any future tourney's.
  • Another well run tourney Tyson, I had a blast, and managed to slip into the money in 4th place.

Congrats on the win Stpboy, though hopefully next time I dont double you up when you have quads  .

Looking forward to the next one.
  • Ionstorm, thats the name I forgot. I appreciated the double up at that point, my superior "acting" ..."skills" came into place for that one lol. Well played tourny though.

My names Ian. When I thought about it after I should have known when you asked if I had made a pair yet. But I was fairly commited to the pot to find out anyways, and I had a pretty healthy stack at the time.

I really wanted to try and do more at the final table, but with the aggressive big stack sitting to my right, and not many playable hands when they have been raised comming my way it was hard to play alot of hands.
  • Good job with the tourney. I was itching all week long during my holidays to get out and play a little. Appreciate the chance. Thanks again.

As for the the tourney itself, I never really got away from my starting amount. Didn't get many hands. I pretty much folded my way to the final table. I did catch some decent cards at that point. As Ian said though, there weren't too many chances to jump in with a good sized raise at every pre-flop. Not with my stack anyways.

Thanks again Redington, and it was a pleasure to meet everyone there. Hopefully see everyone again soon.

  • Thanks for the tourney Tyson, I had a very good time...and stp...I was the poor stiff with the short stack and the kings...that's poker. Hope to see you all at another tourney soon.
  • Thanks for all you guys. only 6 days and we had over capacity!

Happy to see STP broke the WPC curse, though it was probably only a matter of time until that happened.

I decided that I'd make a push at the wrong time, side game was calling and didn't want to play short stack all night. Not a great decision, but had a great time none the less.

Hopefully everyone has gotten the info about this weekend.

    Thanks
