Live Canadian Open Championship Sats running in 5 casinos now

Along with Saturdays $550 Super Sat at River Rock Casino Resort in Vancouver to put 1 in every 10 players into the $5000 Heads Up Championship, 4 more Casinos have started running Single Table qualifiers until COPC begins. Casino Yellowhead and Casino Edmonton are running $60+5 games on Sunday and Wednesday nights for Casino Edmonton at 7:00 PM. There are also super sats to be announced very soon and Edmonton plans to have 60 players of their own competing via this route, with winners being awarded $550 vouchers.

Grey Eagle Casino and Cash Casino in Calgary are now running 10 player single table sats on demand. $65+5 per player gets the winner a $550 voucher and 2nd the scraps. $180 each gets the winner $1100 in vouchers and 2nd $550. For the big dogs, $300 will see the winner get $2200 in entries and 2nd place $550 of their own. Vouchers can be applied in several ways: $220+$330 events for 1 $550 voucher for example! The winner of a $180 SNG can play the $220, the $330 and a $550 event! Or just win a few and play all the larger events.

LOL....I guess with your thinking, for Golf, they should rename the Canadian Open, the Ontario Open?

You can only blame your government for not being the poker capital of Canada. For now, that title (and this event) will be left in the west.
  • The whole tour is being redesigned to make it more regional for 2010 and give player equal oppurtunity, and we are planning our largest event after the open to be held in the east. Believe me we would love to tap into that population. You can see just from the River Rock sats we have made progress in BC. Players will be pleased with whats next and we are listening. That said, alberta is just stuffed with casinos who cooperate and embrace it all. Las Vegas is more popular than Atlantic City.......

True that. I know the reasons for it (also a lack of someone with the entrepreneurial spirit to kick it off out here) was just making a comment. :)

Glad someone is getting this type of action going.
