sit n' go idea .. crazy?

forget about bankroll management for a second and put this into perspective.

I understand that every single one I play I will not make 1st place, and by coming in 3rd or 2nd, gives me the chance to play it again for redemption of 1st place. I will also note that if I attempt the higher stake sit n' go and not make the money, drop back down to a previous one to make up for that loss.

Start off with a high level sit n' go for $60, win it ($247.50) .. move up.

The next one costs $119, win it ($450). (thats $578.50 profit off a $60.00 starting roll)

You have nothing to lose since your already up and take a shot at higher stakes.

The next one costs $202+14 for a first place of $909. Win it, my roll increased to $1533.

$330+20 - 1st place of $1485 = $2688 roll off of 4 sit n' gos... keep moving up until you reach the ones with 1000+ buy in.

Call this idea crazy, but do any of you think it could work? I don't really have anything to lose. I know poker, have won couple tournaments online and live, and figured I would give this a shot after I read more sit n' go strategy, and play some of the lower stakes enough until I feel I'm ready to give it a shot.

Have any of you attempted, or know anybody who has attempted this idea? failure of success?

ya but if you do win 5 times in a row....think of how much money you would make.....
  • I like my"original" idea better. I'll buy in for $1. then if I lose, buy in for $2. then $4., then $8. and so on. Eventually I'll win (I hope) and be up a guaranteed $1. Sounds like a sure thing.... :)
  • mine is only quit if your ahead.

Martingale is awesome and a sure fire winner. ;)

You mean it already has a name? I thought I just invented it! Damn, too late again...
  • i calculated if i were to win every one at least once, which is 8 sit n gos from $55+5 buy in to the ones where its $5500+500 buy in then i would have made about $35K-$45K.

like i said.. If I lose one in the higher ups, I drop back down one, or two until I make up for the funds I lost.

This can be something I can be working @ for weeks/months. Even lose the original starting roll. But its something I'm focused on fulfilling. I will even keep updates on how my progress is.

    I'm going for it tomorrow.

    impossible is nothing.
  • Odds on him just plain losing the 1st one? Then what?

    yup
  • start again
  • gl and all the best, please post your progress.
  • This all depends on starting stack and blind structure.
If these are quickies. 1 k starting stack, blinds up every 10 mins then you are going to be playing with every bingo playing river rat from here to Butt Munch Iowa.
    Been There Done That.
Odds IMO are against a decently skilled player, especially if you end up card dead.

    no, no, no, you're doing it wrong. If you progress only using the prime numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23.......
