adjusting from 10 to 9 and 6 man tables....

how big of an adjustment is it from 10 to 9...seems to me its quite irrelevant but maybe add a few hands. but from 10 or nine to six is obviously quite a change...do i need to study this or if im conscious of the concept will i do fine. I usually avoid 6 seat games yet i think they are prob more exploitable if everyones used to full table and most lessons deal with 10...?
