I am not buying these as of yet because I've played in this casino and it was the dirtiest, grimiest, most depressing casino I've ever been in. I expect the chips to be incredibly worn and dirty. No wonder they went bankrupt.

What I am holding out for is next week sometime the secondary chips should go on sale. These are MINT chips and will be similar but different than the chips above.

If anyone wants to commit to buying some (depending on cost of course) post here and we can chop the shipping. I'm expecting the chips to be $1.25 or so each and the hundos will be probably more, maybe $2 ea. There should also be some $500s but they will be probably at least $4 ea. As long as the prices are not too ridiculous, I'm getting a mint sng set and some cash game chips as well.

Of course if you want some of the used chips you can add to my order as well. They are on presale right now in the link above and the price will go up or down depending on their condition when they arrive next week at the Chiproom. The fact that the prices started so low to begin with is another thing that tells me that these are in bad condition.

  • I'm curious Moose, how many chips do you have?

Paulson Top Hats are the nutz!

Minty secondaries. Looks like these will go on sale Sat. but probably by the rack on ebay.

  • I'm thinking about getting some used primaries and then buying the diamond chip cleaner to clean em up!
  • TSP. 1 tablespoon in 2 L of water. Like $2.25 at your Home Depot. Diamond chip cleaner is 90% TSP.
  • k thx ill just get that.
  • Minty secondaries go on sale Aug. 14.
  • Pricing comes out Friday. Oh boy oh boy oh boy. This might get spendy.

If anyone wants to get in on these, new or used, and chop shipping LMK before Aug. 12.
  • Those roulette chips sure are purdy, might have to get a bunch of those!
  • I'm thinking 6 colours of 50 for me, just in case I ever run a roulette game. Also I believe there is only 100 of each colour so act fast on Sat.

I was pretty close. They are ranging between $.89-$1.19 ea, hundos are $1.89 and $500 are $6.

  • "primary" and "secondary" chips, please explain
  • Primary chips are used mostly in casinos as the normal play chip. They get the most use therefore generally more abused.

Secondary chips are chips a casino puts in play as necessary. Most never get used, or used very seldom and are therefore generally in better shape than primary chips.

Ed, if you come to my game this week, I'll show you the difference with a couple of my Aztar $5 chips.

At least Moose would buy some :D
  • ^^^^AJ^^^^^ the new chip expert. :)

Basically casinos are required to have two sets of chips. If the casino suspects theft/fraud/counterfeit chips then the casino can remove the primary chips and put the secondaries in play without shutting down the casino.

It happened one night at MGM after a Mike Tyson fight I believe. Panic swept through the crowd in the casino when some people thought security/patrons were shooting at each other. Some BJ tables got knocked over and people were grabbing chips. They shut the casino, brought out the secondaries and continued on.

Hardly. In the world of chips, Moose...you are the Jedi Master.
  • Well, then I guess that makes you his Paduwon, AJ . . .

Me, I'm getting some more Jubilees (5k, 25k) to allow me to host stacks all the way up to 40k

Now unfortunately AJ can attest that I precleaned these at Buzzardds tourney and removed most of the surface dirt with soap and water but this is what you get from 3 chips after soaking 15 min in TSP. The dirt just floats off, scrub with a toothbrush and you are done.

    P1030473.JPG

So AJ delivered a couple chips to me yesterday - I need your P* account so I can pay you. So my primary sample set is complete. Just missing the $500 secondary.

    P1030476.JPG

Now I'm posting these pics because I expect that for the Black Friday sale, these used chips will be going on sale for .25ea, so if you like 'em, start saving your pennies now. I don't have a used $.50 or $1, but you can see the condition of the $5, $25 and $100. It took me many tries to stand the $5 on edge, a few tries to get the $25 and the $100 easily stands on edge.

    P1030477.JPG

Here you can see the primaries and secondaries all stacked together.

  • Yee Haw! The rest of my chips came today as well as 3 silver strikes I bought off ebay to use as dealer buttons.

One side is the same on all the coins and the reverse is a bison, horses and deer.
