    believe that's Chilliwack, BC... lol
  • Makes sense lmao
  • lol..Where abouts in the Wack? I am down there once in awhile..but I will never go back to Fairfield...;)
  • it's in Sardis and i don't blame you i won't go to the Chilliwack side and we usually play every friday night, have a dealer and drinks and food our on us

I will stick to the casino thanks..lol
  • no problem you stick to the casino enjoy LOL
  • you can't just come on the internet and offer me liquor and poker.
  • You are paying for it darb...lol..20 buck cap! Christ..
  • It sounds worse than the cruise ship games... :(
  • hey if thats to high feel free to tell me what you think it should be, i was just going with the info i was given by a dealer from Cascades casino who also deals cash games on nights off
  • For a 1/2 game, cap at 5 or at the most 10. 20 is borderline criminal. You'll find you get a lot more interest with a smaller cap, and still make a decent buck.
  • thanks for responding i thought it was a bit high but like i said thats what she told me was the usual rake at home games she deals at so i figured i was right on par with the usual games around here
  • If you're going to cap at $20 I'd expect some topless dealers or something.

The casino does a 10% rake to a max of $5. Home games, imo, should be less. If you did a 5% rake to a max of $10 I think you'll still have more than even.

I know a few people that do teh same home game idea. 1/2, 500 max BI, 10% rake to $5 with free food and booze. The guy still brings home more cash then food/booze he puts out.
  • thanks guys for the info, hearing other peoples thought and opinions is great to help keep our game running and bringing people back any more info or thoughts i love to hear them so keep sending them
  • thanks again guys for your input syphilaids your input was great we are gonna go with the 10% up to 5 bucks rake, honestly thanks again guys since i have joined this site and i have been reading tons of different threads you guys are great for honest input and feed back thanks again

Oh go blow it out your badge GP

    You'll never take me alive!!
  • Don't assume that I am trying to take you alive!!

    "Go ahead, make my day!"
  • oh no now how did we get off topic....whatever thanks again for the help
  • also hendo, I don't know if this would work well but you could have no rake and a cover charge if you start to feel the "heat"

    Something like $5/hr/person.
  • you know i have heard that a few games in the lower mainland have that going i know they were the 5/5 game and it was 10/hr for a seat, i guess we will see how the rake goes and go from there all of these different options are great guys
  • Not knowing how it is like there, thought I would ask. Is the legal situation any different than here? ie are they raiding and shutting down raked games?
  • i have heard of more fundraiser tournaments of them raiding and shutting them down cash home games are harder for them to find i think because it is a usually a common group of people and words spreads at the casino
  • Hendo...with a 5 buck cap, that is much more reasonable..and honestly...if you are feeding people free booze, I would love to check out the game :)

Comp..there isn't too much busting of illegal games here these days,(legalities are no different) but, not to say they aren't looking. I haven't heard of any fundraiser busts or cash game busts in a loooong time out here. That being said, I am not in the city..and may not hear everything going on..but I am always on the listen for these things..
  • Dennis you are always welcome we are not playing this week due to our league poker game on friday but the next week we will be back rollin if your around let me know
  • I won't be down your way for a bit yet...still a busy summer ahead of me...but keep us updated on how its going.
