  • In a $2 likely only QQ+/AK..but I've never played these. I know in a $30 MTT today there was a 4 way all in pre for many many BBs with KJ>AA>Q9>some other crap, so I would expect to get called really light in your spot.

and your looser or tighter in higher stakes?
  • it's not so much the cards you have as the percieved range of your opponents. A 350 open is fairly strong but the flats are almost never strength here. I could do it with a fairly wide range here as a bluff if I didn't think the open was strong

(also I probably don't have a flatting range here)

I don't play many holdem tournies at all. I'm just saying if people at $30 buyins shove and reshove in the 5th level with tonnes of bbs that I think that a steal in this spot is not the most profitable play. I would save my steals at this level for hu or 3 handed situations.

I'm sure some of the tourney players know better than I do though...I cold be completely wrong.

Im shoving alot wider than this because there is already the equity in the pot to do so.

    Probably 88+, AQ+.
  • I don't think that shoving is the right move in this situation. If you are trying to steal it is but is a risky move as the first raiser could easily call you, they could easily have raised with a very high quality hand. In the case that you do have a high quality hand you would not want to push everyone out of it, a commitment raise that may get 1 caller would be a more profitable play.

About this, probably 99 though, 88 could be profitable too, not sure, would need to assign some ranges. HUD won't help much in this kinda spot.

I'm probably even wider than this unless I have a read that villain is really strong ^^'

Dude he only has a pot bet

I feel like he should have 'something' since 3.5x raise seems to mean he has something he likes, whether that means he actually has something good or he's holding stuff he over values, but I think he rarely does this with garbage, or at least I wouldn't put that in his range until I saw otherwise.

    I don't recall saying I did..

I guess I'm just saying that his raise size already indicates that he's not weak, so you don't really need a read that he's gonna have something here a lot.

Yup, but we don't neccesarily need to have his hand beat to make this move +EV. The 350 open is kinder to us than the 250 open cause it puts less mathematical pressure on us imo. 350 is in no way a commiting open

True, I don't think much wider is profitable though, pretty sure AJo and 66 would be spew, I dunno about AJs/77-88
