  • He must have read that you were bluffing.

Play 20 tables you won't even notice anymore.
  • Just for the record botmac and I are different people, lol

    Welcome to my club botmac!:)
  • How do I resign from the club phil ? Ya GTA I only play a couple of tourneys a week, I think that what frustrates me the most, trying to play the best game I can and watching donks win hand after hand with terrible calls and great luck. I know they are donkaments and I should not expect much more from alot of the players, but man it is so frustrating. Rant over (for now ;)

it seems to me it will happen about 20 times in 100, which will always seem like a lot if you think aces are unbeatable it is not the best hand to have it is just the easiest to play.

you didn't see my 95%+ chance to double up and take the lead in the 18k with 20 left im guessing. 3 outer all in on the turn...beat
  • Man oh man when will it end, been running bad since march of 09

  • You are going to see a lot more bad beats and suckouts when playing these level tourneys. Plain and simple. People are getting it in more often with the worse hand, therefor are having the opportunity to suck out more often.

As bad as it is...it happens at every level. Just in the micros and lows, a lot more.
  • This is why I don't play cash or money tourney's on the internet.
  • HVEEPOKER wrote: »

You are implying that bad beats and suckouts don't happen live? I want to play at your tables..
  • maybe because its a $2 tournament ? ? ?
  • DennisG wrote: »

Come on down . I am not implying that it dosen't happen at live games but it seems to happen more on the internet sites than any of the places that I play. I have seen it more than most.
I want to see who's dealing the cards. I want to see live bodies of the people I am playing against.
I just think that something is going on behind the scenes on some of these sites. That's why I don't play on them.
I am sure there are quite a few players who say the same thing or feel the same way.
If someone is silly enough or naive enough to push their stack after flopping a boat 4's over aces, not thinking that someone may have 1 ace and could hit on the turn or the river then they deserve to lose their money.
If I had the ace in my hand I would be calling this raise too. 99% of us would.

hveepoker, you are my favorite poster of as late.:)
  • Well HVEEPOKER I will make that push every time because I am a 77% chance to win the hand every time, nothing silly about it. Live or online it's +EV. And you keep calling and you'll go broke before I will.

If you are 77% chance to win then Why Didn't you win?
Nothing against you , I know cause I've been there in higher stakes tourneys and cash games. It taught me nothing is as it seems.
I make that call weather I have 10's or higher. especially if I hit the trips after the flop.
I had a guy dead to rights at Niagara back in January and he sucked out on the river in a 3 way massive pot.
    He payed 6-2os I had Q-Q Flop 6-Q-2.
3rd guy had A-A I raised and they both called. Turn was a 6.
I pushed and they both called me.
River was the last 6. I bitched and moaned for a couple of days but it's part of the game.
I just said that I see a lot more funny stuff on line. I dabbled in it last year and seen some strange stuff. Now I stay away from it.
Live games I can watch the dealer and the players sitting around me.;)

Of course it happens more...you are seeing 3-4x the amount of hands per hour.
If someone is silly enough or naive enough to push their stack after flopping a boat 4's over aces, not thinking that someone may have 1 ace and could hit on the turn or the river then they deserve to lose their money.

I am getting as much of my stack, and as much as I can borrow from the guy beside me, into the middle when I flop the boat here.

Would I call with the Ace?...yep. Would I giggle like a schoolgirl on the turn?....yep.
  • don't worry Phil, they are everywhere! Now I know ppl will criticize me for this play preflop, however, both the raiser and hoops were over 50 in vpip and PR for last 30 something hands. I had enough, and needed to make a move soon....then the wonderful poker gods gave me the perfect flop. I dont know how this guy could ever fold A6s here...???

Sadly the session I'm playing right now isn't going so well. Getting kicked in the teeth on the river too often.
