My big mistake turns into $.... ???
I am very new to poker. Have only been playing for about 7 months.
Anyway, I play on UB and usually play the $1.00 + $0.10 10 man NL SNG.
I have been doing Ok at this meaning that I am about breaking even over
25 of them. I decided that while I was playing a $1.00 6 man SNG I would see if I could get into a 10 man game - I also wanted to see what it was like to play two games at the same time.
So I think I see a $1 game open and do my quick clicking without paying enough attention...
I end up in a $10 + $1 game. OH NO. I am really not ready for this level.
The funny part of this whole story is that I go on to take 1st place and bascially double by very small online bankroll. I should not have won. I did not deserve to win. I got 3 Runner Runner straights when I was all in and one Runner Runner flush when I was all in.
I have never hit runner runner in my life and I get it 4 times in a game I didn't want to be in.
This was the eqivalent of winning the lottery for me. So thought Id post it.
Lady Luck lives on.
See you back at the $1.00 tables !

Did you pinch yourself to see if you were dreaming?
Well, congrats on the win. Best wishes for many more. As long as I'm not in the tourney...
However, I have been very unlucky for some time now...I was due for a dose and I sure got it.
The main thing to note is that I know I should not have won, I know I got lucky, and I will be back on the $1 tables tonight where I belong.
I should be able to play a good chunk of 2005 at the dollar tables using the money I won last night.
I killed myself laughing at that. Try to figure out the logistics of how such a thing would be done.
At any rate, congrats on your win. Having a bit of cash to play around with is a good feeling, even if you did come by it more or less by accident.

Once I had 52o and I accidentally hit the 'raise' button instead of 'fold'. The flop came 522. Beauty!

Maybe at least a part of your winnings should be allocated to a prescription for some ADD pills!
Seriously though, fun story, way to go.
I only made the mistake becuase I was playing at multiple tables - not paying attention.
However, I now have reason to believe I am getting better at poker since on Boxing Day
I played in a Freezeout tournament at my local casino (there were 100 players)
and I came in 5th. My first real life (casino - not homegame) final table.
Still learning, but its nice to see a win now and again.
The $1, $5, and $10 tourneys won't really have too big a difference between them in skill level, imho. Higher up though, going from say $10 to $50 or even
$100 would be affected moreso I think.
