  • You're 6 handed, he hit top pair, he's probably too dumb to put you on the 4 when you check raise all in on the turn. You got him in exactly how you wanted him and he caught a 3 outer. Seems kinda standard to me. Piss me off? Absolultely. Wouldn't call it too brutal.
  • whats brutal...a 2 outer?
  • Welcome to no limit poker.

With the ability to make bets and moves that knock your opponents out of pots comes that possibility that they will suck out and take all of the chips that you worked so hard for.

I remember reading a book by Jesse May (the announcer for the British Poker shows that is so excitable) before he became famous called "Shut up and Deal". He spoke quite a bit about how the hardest thing for a professional poker player is to keep positive with all of the luck inherant in the game.
  • this is not my welcoming to the sport ;) but ill refer this to the sklansky book im finally reading that suggests bad beats generally happen to the good players because the crappy ones don't know how to get themselves into a situation where the are so ahead much of the time. so ill roll my eyes tell myself im awesome and re load my bankroll.....
